@minordissent The lion's share of said hard work is stolen at gunpoint. People who steal labour are to blame, not poors who dare to find enjoyment. What is more ethical, upholding the capitalist system with your hard work for scraps or refusing to participate, is an open question.

There's an unfortunate game theory to a large civilization in that it requires hard work, ethical behavior, and deferral of gratification to build. But then eventually people start to forget that and think "why would I work hard when theres all this stuff here already? I should just be hedonistic". Slowly, the civilization starts to decay causing it to take care of people less, which causes more people to defect ("why should I take care of a system that doesn't care for me? Especially when there's so much fun to be had by neglecting it"), until eventually it collapses because everyone has defected.

it's getting harder to show up for work each day knowing there are unemployed men in Colombia with 3 girlfriends doing motorcycle wheelies at 2 am

Why do boomers insist on saying "show up on time, be there" line? If I would be late for job I would get fired, simple as. It doesn't put you in track for promotion, it's a basic requirement to keep a job. Was their work culture so lax that just clocking in was actually rare?

Dave Ramsey says a $600 pressure washing job can be the first step to making 150K a year "You don’t want to be 63 years old still pressure washing. But to get through this week, you can do a lot of pressure washing" "Use the pressure washing money to pay $10,000 for code school, then go make 150K a year coding, every move should be a step toward where you want to be in 10 years"

Editing AI text like this is like trying to operate on a body whose skin, muscles, veins, bones, and organs are all compromised. You can't do it. There's nothing to leave intact; nowhere to begin. There's nothing alive to sustain the organism while parts are repaired. (6/7)

@alpastortaco13 @SlumRNA_Dog I'm not arguing with that. Issues like ethnic tensions and sexism exist. But devoting your power against them is akin to trying to treat flu by cleaning your runny nose really hard. There is a core root issue to be addressed first: virus for flu and (((they))) for society.

@alpastortaco13 @SlumRNA_Dog Divide et impera, pit people against each other in manufactured struggles such as race/gender, or millenials vs zoomers to keep them busy while keeping on exploiting both sides. Used to take coordinated effort. Now with one clip zoomer come frothing at similarly abused millenials

@ljmontello No we don't. It's a class issue, and redefining it as gender issue is biting the red herring, aka serving the power. There is no coherent "men" entity which seeks to punish a coherent "women" entity. There is a coherent class of opressors who use psychiatry to opress the workers.

The saddest thing about all that is that he could have purchased businesses, factories, invest in infrastructure projects and whatnot. But they simply are that greedy and shallow. Yachts, maybachs and penthouses it is. Antihuman in all senses.

@PAstynome It's okay to be ignorant but it's less okay to brandish it on X for the world to see. Every single Russian family have had multiple casualties from this war. Sorry if my belief that my grandfathers and grandmothers deserved to live past the age of 20 disturbs you as overzealous.

World War II is basically a religion in the West, Russia, and China. I don’t quite understand it and I personally find it utterly bizarre to see Gen-Z and Millennials hold grudges that aren’t really relevant to their lives.

A problem with America is that it has imported too many worthless subhumans whose only significance is hating and betraying their own people back home. They "love" America not for what it actually is but merely as an ideal that they can utilize to attack their home countries.

@JamesEFoster They just genuinely have no idea about working people at all. They remember seeing working class folk with a pint in hand and cluelessly conclude that since they are "working" class, and they are drinking, they are drinking on the job. Completely divorced from reality.

Hannah Spencer wasn’t talking about people who “enjoy a pint” AFTER work. Is it any wonder those spinning this are so hated.

The Riga control room in this photo was built in 1985 to manage the USSR's North-Western power grid. Every light on the wall is a live substation. That wall is a mosaic mimic board. The entire grid topology of northwestern USSR rendered as a real-time analog dashboard, before consumer GUIs existed. Macintosh had launched the year before. Windows 1.0 wouldn't ship for months. This room was already running real-time visualization for an entire regional grid. The pipe organ ceiling fixtures are acoustic baffles. The curved consoles are ergonomic. The operators sitting there controlled electricity for Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, and northwestern Russia. About 25 million people. Frequency stabilization, load balancing, fault response, dispatched live from this room. The Soviet Union built rooms like this throughout the 70s and 80s. By 1985 the design language was mature. Tarkovsky's Stalker came out in 1979. Blade Runner in 1982. WarGames in 1983. The cinematic future those movies imagined was already running, in actual rooms, dispatching actual electricity. The grid this room controlled ran until February 8, 2025. Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania finally desynchronized from the Russian power system 14 months ago. The Baltic transmission operators isolated their networks, ran in island mode for 24 hours, and synchronized with Continental Europe at 14:05 on February 9. €1.6 billion to switch over. EU paid 75%. The Soviet Union dissolved in 1991. The grid this room managed stayed on the wire for another 34 years. Every sci-fi control room you've seen on screen was imitating rooms like this one. The room kept doing its job through all of them.

@NewYorker I shoot my chud son with .22 regularly since he turned 3. He is on track to become bulletproof by 12 and able to withstand an ICBM by 21. I salute this idea and will start the exposure immediately.

@ImEvaRaud @Twitch Alabuga is the name of the town, Elabuga, in native Tatar language. The town is over 1000 years old, highly likely predating drone production facilities as well as Estonian nation by roughly 1000 years. That's like sanctioning the land of Bavaria because of the BMW.
