@wrong27268 I tried to eat a Buccee's brisket sammy once. I didn't even eat half of it. Of course though, in all fairness, I am a BBQ snob, especially a Brisket snob. I have a few state titles and an IBCA world title, but it doesn't mean much outside of Texas.

@RebornFatboy We loved watching the BBQ cookoffs on TV, but they're not on much anymore. And I'm 72 with a lower back that just goes out for a few days unannounced, lol. I understand your pain - everything is connected with your back. Hope your back gets better.

@wrong27268 After 25 year I retired about 5 years ago. My back knocked me out of it. Yes, cooked and won from Michigan down to SoCal and all points in between. In fact, I was in Miles city, Montana when i blew out my first disc. We light the smoker with a torch.

@RebornFatboy We love to cook BBQ and still do it old school: chimney to light the coals, etc. You get that smoke ring on those ribs and man, that's money. I take it you compete?

@wrong27268 Then you know there is a Buccee's in Amarillo now? We traveled all over Texas pulling a 30' self contained trailer for BBQ contests. We avoided Buccee's like the plaque. It turns a 10 minute fuel and pee stop into 45 minutes or more. But man those beaver nuggets!

@wrong27268 It is a much nice place than Ruidoso. Higher in the mountains, the Red River runs through town, streets are not clogged with tourists, just not one of those cookie cutter mountain ski towns.
