@JaclynLaberge @RobKoehler2 @CRDSC_SDRCC Complaints based systems can address issues only after the fact. That's inadequate. Canada needs a wholesale culture change in sport. Shift the norms. Stronger coach education. Stronger athlete/parent knowledge. Less about medals. "Winning" coaches get away with too much.

1. Safe sport does not exist in Canada. 2. The @CRDSC_SDRCC should not be tasked to set up safe sport. They are an arbitration body. 3. Don’t model USA SafeSport; it has failed their athletes. 4. No more bandaids or PR announcements. Athletes deserve better. #PushForChange

@CurlingZone @KWojtalik @curlinggeek @CurlingZone The majority of the other country MD teams that are at the Olympics, or were at the OQE are athletes commit to MD and get funding from the MD program of their country to dedicate their training in the discipline. Its a two way commitment. 🇨🇭🇪🇸🇰🇷🇯🇵🇨🇿🇫🇮🇪🇪🇦🇺🇭🇺, etc.

@KWojtalik @curlinggeek Of course there are. But to call it a Dedicated Mixed Doubles program, they have to be sustainable as doubles teams only. 4-player athletes dedicate to that program because they make it "semi-pro" living at it. In other countries, doubles athletes are becoming funded to do.

I sincerely wish John and Rachel the best of luck and will cheer for their success in Beijing. At the same time, I am greatly disappointed in the lack of vision displayed by this decision. This does not grow the sport.

Perhaps I missed this BUT did 🇨🇳 officially announce their Olympic curling reps for all 3 disciplines yet? Did ROC make an official announcement regarding their men's selection? We are stressed about 🇨🇦 MD but seems we are not the only nation lagging a bit on finalizing teams
