@skoluss @tamarindjuic I was working on a project regarding BLE and while I was building it on Cachy OS, there was some issues where the kernel was blocking it. I tried a few tricks from online but it didn't work. So I tried to rebuild it in Windows and it just worked. Windows was more free for me here

@PiyuCodes windows doesnt restart to update unless you hit restart. i have never seen it just restarting while working

Windows always forces updates and restarts right when you are in the middle of working.

@Sumanly0 I wouldn't consider my self like a full blown dev, I'm still learning but so far I prefer windows. Im jumping between windows 11 and Cachy OS and so far I'm always coming back to windows when things don't work out in Linux with my niche personal projects

@nalinrajput23 Love MacBook. But I prefer M1 MacBook air compared to m4 air in terms of design. But I prefer my friends Asus zenbook. It feels very nice to work with. All personal preference

Is there any laptop which comes close to MacBook ?

@popedotdev @Shivam25mishra Not really both are pretty much the same if you are using the same load. Even at high load both are similar. So is Linux (like cachy, bazite and fedora. I've been distro hoping)

@psomkar1 I prefer dual booting as Linux sometimes gives me so much headaches. I have some niche personal project stuff I like to do and thought Linux would be better since it gives more freedom but at the end of the day i fall back to windows as things just work.

If this is the only time you’ve seen the “Charging on Hold” warning on an iPhone while living in coastal Kerala climate then 1. You’re not living in coastal Kerala Or 2. You have special iPhone units around you Or 3. You are lying I’ve seen iPhones show that warning while wired charging indoors under a fan in similar outdoor temps. An iPhone 12 is gonna show that warning while *wired* charging in a car even if it’s with max AC blasting. Unless ofc, you have a special unit that’s immune to the infamous overheating.

@yanjohn101 @immasiddx I can also 3D print a grip for my Magic Mouse. I don’t see how this is more accessible than just 3D printing an attachment for another mouse.

@abhitwt At the end of the day it's preference. I prefer how windows handle desktop, file management, works better with my phone, able to install older version of software and tinker to my liking

Other than gaming, can you give me one reason to buy a Windows laptop in 2026 instead of a MacBook?
