"This is going to be a game-changer for urban deliveries..." No, clearly a truck designed by people that knows nothing about the industry It is the size of a full-semi with no sleeper berth used as day cab, yet lacks the visibility and short wheelbase needed for city maneuverability Drivers also avoid blind-side backing as much as possible due to poor visibility, they prefer driver-side backing so they can stick their head out the window to see better and dock easier/safer.......In a Tesla truck, every backing is blind-side! Oh....No more talking to a gate guard or handling paperwork and such without getting out of their seat and off the truck (windows don't roll down)

@SawyerMerritt Class 8 truck with a Model Y turning radius is absolute wizardry from the Tesla engineering team. 🤯 This is going to be a game-changer for urban deliveries and tight loading docks. Jay Leno’s reaction says it all—the maneuverability is unreal! #TeslaSemi #EV #JayLenosGarage

Tesla says the Tesla Semi Standard Range (325 mile range), which has a shorter wheelbase than the Semi Long Range (500 mile range), has about the same turning radius as a Model Y. Jay Leno driving the redesigned Tesla Semi in his new video: "Nice turning radius. Boy that's pretty amazing."

@General_Oluchi 1 - You buy a crappy painting for $10 2 - You call an "expert" and he values it at $50M 3 - Donate it to a museum 4 - Write off $4,999,990 (or get charged for tax fraud)

@WallStreetApes The issue isn’t the price going up, it’s the tax on unrealized gains. Some people won’t be able to pay the higher tax and will end up losing their homes

There is a big problem crushing Americans that’s not being talked about This American lives in a small rural town. Almost overnight a bunch of developers came in and built a large amount of $400,000+ homes The avenge home in the town before this was 100k -200k Now residents have “their property taxes going up because their property values are being reassessed by the county, and that's pumping more money into whose pockets? The developers and the local politician” “This type of gentrification is the type of gentrification that destroys the middle class and the working class Americans, and takes away American dreams from those families who've lived here forever, or transplants who moved here to find a better life and to adapt to the area development — this is what takes away their American dreams”

A family says what started as a simple accident on a fishing trip quickly turned into something else. After slipping on a wet floor and hitting the throttle, the captain completely lost it, yelling and reacting way out of proportion, even with kids on board Imagine how awkward the ride back was 😬

The probability of a passenger operating/bumping the throttle is never zero. Relying on customers parenting skills for boat safety is, to put it kindly, amateurish. People will always do reckless things, as any trained professional knows Ultimately, the captain is responsible for failing to secure the controls There seems to be a widespread assumption here (born of ignorance) that customers or passengers should already be familiar with boating before renting

Tell me you're not a captain without telling me you're not a captain The captain is responsible for the SAFETY of the boat and all its occupants at ALL times, not just going "point to point" He cannot assume the customers will behave in a professional way nor blame a 9yo kid...period!

@zero_cents @LagrimaChristi @ClownWorld Nonsense. There is shared responsibility when you board that boat. A Captains job is to safely pilot that boat from point to point Under no circumstances is he/she required to monitor your children. Thats the parents responsibility. You are 100% wrong.

@beatoincognito @LagrimaChristi @ClownWorld No, the CAPTAIN always holds ultimate responsibility for safety, he cannot delegate that duty to inexperienced customers, period! Blaming customers is unprofessional, and says a lot about the captain imho

WSJ: Tesla Finally Has Its First Semi-Truck and It’s Already a Hit With Truckers. "Truckers who drove it in pilot tests say they loved features including a centered driving position, faster charging and longer range for about $100,000 less than other battery-electric trucks. Angel Rodriguez, a 56-year-old truck driver for Hight Logistics in Long Beach, Calif., recently swapped out a 13-gear diesel truck for a Tesla Semi, which is automatic, for a one-month pilot test. “It’s just easier on your body. It’s less stressful because you’re not really having to engage the clutch and the stick shift.” Big F Transport employs five mechanics to service more than 40 diesel-powered rigs and a fleet of trailer chassis in Wilmington, Calif. “If we go all EV we will only need one [mechanic] to service chassis,” said Geovanny Melendez, the carrier’s VP of operations, who went to see the Semi earlier this month at a ride-and-drive event near the Port of Long Beach. Jennie Abarca, co-founder and CEO of King Fio Trucking in Long Beach, Calif., once worked as a truck dispatcher and her husband is a truck driver, so she knows all too well the toll a diesel engine takes on people’s lungs and hearing. She eventually wants to swap out King Fio’s 27 diesel trucks to create an all-electric fleet. King Fio already has 11 battery-electric trucks from Volvo and Nikola. But the company limits those trucks to shorter trips to and from local ports because they only have a range of about 225 miles. The Semi, by contrast, can travel 500 miles on a single charge, according to Tesla. For King Fio that means two or three round-trips a day from Long Beach to warehouses in the nearby Inland Empire or a single round-trip to Las Vegas. She has 20 Semis on order. “The Teslas change everything,” Abarca said. “It opens up a whole different type of delivery that I can make.”

It must be launched by an operator with a direct line of sight to the drone (no radar data) who also needs to be in its path. That's extremely difficult considering the size of Ukraine and the drones taking different routes each time These 3D printed drones are no much better solution than a shotgun imho

With speeds over 186 mph, these Ukrainian drone interceptors are being sought by the U.S. and its Gulf allies to take down Iran's Shahed drones. The Ukrainian-made interceptors cost about $2,000 to make, compared to $4 million missile interceptors the U.S. and its allies are using, CBS News' Aidan Stretch reports.

@razgriiz @CBSNews This is just a hyped up FPV drone copied from a YouTube build. It requires a pilot with goggles to manually chase the target, which is highly impractical, no more effective than a soldier with a shotgun imo youtube.com/watch?v=7PTsHD…
