@General_Oluchi 😂😂😂 He took another man's surname not ever her own father's name. Patriarchy thrives in poverty. Just have money. Nigerian men will adjust to whatever😂😂😂

@General_Oluchi I don’t know how to explain to you, ma But you must not necessarily own a thing there before you can voluntarily contribute to its upkeep. It is called “isi obi” and it is occupied by “ono na obi” It is more of a monument than just a mere house. Hope I make sense shaa ?

The last time I was invited to a family meeting, the discussion was about contributing money to repair our ancestral home in the village. My late grandfather passed it down to his three sons and is now fully occupied by some of their descendants. No one from my father’s nuclear family has a room there, yet somehow, it is still considered our “family house.” I haven’t been to that house in 20+ years. I don’t own a room there. I don’t own a chair there. I have absolutely no claim to any part of the property. So, naturally, I was surprised when I was invited to a meeting to discuss contributing money toward its repairs. I didn’t say anything during the meeting. Later, my father called me to emphasize the need to contribute to the repairs. I asked him a simple question: “Do you plan to live there?” He said no. Then I asked if he even had a bedroom there or somewhere to sleep whenever he visited. Again, the answer was no. So I asked the obvious question: If the extended relatives who occupy the house have taken over every room and enjoy full use of the property, why can’t they repair the house they live in? I told my father I would gladly contribute toward the repairs under one condition: there must be a written agreement stating that I and my descendants legally own a portion of the house, even generations to come. My father, as one of his descendants, should have been entitled to a share. Yet others took possession of the entire property, and now the people who were left with nothing are being asked to contribute money to maintain it. My father paused and said, “That actually makes sense. Let me think about it.” That was the last time he ever raised the topic. Sometimes, people only remember that something is a “family property” when there are bills to pay. When it’s time to share ownership, suddenly the definition of family becomes much smaller.

A woman got to her home and couldn’t find her recycling bin. She thought it had been stolen until she checked the security camera and saw this 😅

My younger sister in the UK and her husband recently welcomed a baby boy, so I contacted a food vendor to prepare a special nursing mum soup for her. I explained exactly how I wanted it prepared. A few hours later, my sister sent me a picture of the soup, along with two additional bowls of yam pepper soup. I was surprised because I hadn’t ordered them. The vendor had simply gone out of her way to prepare an extra dish for my sister. Such a thoughtful gesture, and I was genuinely grateful. Guys, if you’re in the Portsmouth or Southsea area, please patronize her! She prepares and sells all kinds of delicious meals and can also make dishes that aren’t listed on her menu. You can check out her Instagram page or send her a message on WhatsApp. Good food and thoughtful service deserve to be appreciated and supported! Please retweet for more reach.

Here are some random little things about her that mean so much to me: After our wedding, my feet were swollen, so she pulled out a cushion, placed it on a chair to keep my feet elevated, and then gently massaged them. Whenever her son talks about me, he calls me “Honey,” so now she and practically everyone in the family calls me Honey too. She shares the same birthday as my son, which somehow makes our connection even more special. And on my birthday, she was the very first person to text me.

Guys, please indulge me. ❤️ Let’s talk about good mothers-in-law for a change. I mean the ones who welcomed you like a princess the very first time you visited, and made you leave feeling like a queen. The ones who, even after settling in their family, never gave you a reason to regret marrying into their family. Let’s celebrate them today. We’ve heard enough about bad in-laws. 🥹❤️ I’ll go first. 👇🏼

The one time I subscribed to someone’s X account was when I saw this person match words with action. It is a good thing to see a Nigerian put their mouth where their money is. A very decent Nigerian. I will do it again when the season clocks. But before then, thank you @General_Oluchi, Erisco the bully felt it. His tomato paste business don tie wrapper enter backyard since.

@C_Asikan Me too, I either refund or replace anything I sold that turned out defective. That’s the standard in the US and I’m used to that as well.

@General_Oluchi I had ordered two sharwama from a vendor, only to get them with no cream. Seemed like I was chewing grass. When I complained, she said sorry. I was so upset because I was expecting some form of restitution. When I sold Kilishi in Nigeria and you had a complaint, I replaced.
