#maths #investigation #challenge #fractions Today, Year 6 were busy discussing an @nrichmaths investigation linked to equivalent fractions. The children needed to use their prior knowledge of fractions to tackle the investigation.

Lovely fractions, decimals, percentages arranging task by @HTMaths. The format adds a nice wrinkle to the standard "put these in an ordered list" task.

Found these house front/side elevations. Coupled it up with sales details (price, coverage) of a tin of paint and it was a great wee "how much to paint each wall" task with #n4apps. Some circular shapes took us beyond that level and into n5 territory too.

No need for pre prepared slides or fancy animations, sometimes all you need is a pen, a board, and a handful of carefully thought out questions. That said, pre prepared slides would probably have avoid my horrendous misspelling of "reciprocal". 😵‍💫
