🇬🇧 The King & Queen, with Members of the Royal Family, will view the design recommendations for The Queen Elizabeth Memorial in London on what would have been Her Late Majesty’s 100th Birthday (21 April). The King & Queen will be joined at the British Museum by the Prime Minister & Members of the Queen Elizabeth Memorial Committee, including Chair, Lord Janvrin, to view the final design for the National Memorial to The Late Queen. The King & Queen will be accompanied by the Memorial’s Designer, Lord Norman Foster, to view a scale model of The Queen Elizabeth Memorial. Their Majesties will see artwork displays & a short film featuring imagery of design elements. The King & Queen will meet the three artists producing work for the site — Martin Jennings, Yinka Shonibare & Karen Newman — alongside the maquettes of their sculptures. Both the model & the maquettes will remain on public display at the British Museum. Their Majesties will also meet the Chair & Interim Chief Executive of the Queen Elizabeth Trust (more linked below), as well as Representatives involved in the legacy charity. The new UK-wide independent charity has been established on the occasion of the Centenary of Queen Elizabeth II’s Birth to honour her lifelong commitment to public service. The King has accepted the Royal Patronage of the Trust, which will bring Queen Elizabeth II’s values to life for present & future generations.
