We learned to recognise the calls and edited audio. Then we made and programmed a circuit with Raspberry Pis and Scratch, so the prints would play call when touched.

We watched birds and recorded their calls. Curlew, lapwing and oystercatcher breed in the fields near the school and are frequently heard and seen. On our visit we heard/saw wren, willow warbler, meadow pipit, pheasant and blackbird, amongst others. Then we made conductive prints

I thoroughly enjoyed #thelostsounds activities with Year 3s and Year 4s at Quernmore Primary School. Wonderful to see all the other interesting bird-focussed activities the group have been doing. Thanks to @claireddean @AsMirry @ThinkOutLoudLtd @benwohl

1/2 It’s a busy time for #thelostsounds project. Before half term Year 5s at West End PS made fab prints of birds from Morecambe Bay with conductive ink and programmed a Raspberry Pi circuit to play the prints play sound when touched. Their exhibition is in the video and photo.
