Suggestions that Ledger devices have a back door are categorically false. These suggestions show a misunderstanding of how the Ledger security model works.
No back door. Period.
To be clear, Ledger does not have access to your seed phrase, only the user has access to their seed phrase. With Ledger, your keys stay yours. Always. Your private keys are on your Ledger device, and that's exactly the point. Firmware updates, Ledger Recover, or Ledger Recovery Key don't change this fact, period.
At Ledger we believe that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for your recovery needs. Your setup depends on personal factors and preferences. Ledger believes in consumer empowerment and choice, especially when it comes to something as personal, private, and important as the recovery of your digital assets. That's why we offer a broad range and full spectrum of recovery options.
We encourage everyone to research thoroughly and make informed decisions about their security.
Ledger Recovery Key and Ledger Recover are distinct optional solutions for backing up your Secret Recovery Phrase, offering different formats and methods of protection to the mandatory paper Recovery Sheet.

Hi @falski69, it's a scam. Scammers impersonating Ledger and Ledger representatives are unfortunately common. While we actively report and block scammers, we can't control what accounts - real or bots - choose to say in their letters, emails, websites, calls, bios or usernames on X. This remains an ongoing challenge across platforms.
Always remember: Ledger will never call, DM, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. If someone does, it's a scam. Stay cautious, keep your crypto safe and always Clear Sign transactions where possible.

Phishing attacks don't need your password. They just need one approval.
Ledger's Clear Signing stops that:
→ Every transaction decoded before it reaches you
→ Displayed on a screen no malware can reach
→ You see it, you confirm it, or it doesn't happen
The attack only works if you can't read the contract. Now you can.

Hi @AUGUSTUSRE52252, we appreciate your efforts to warn others. Always remember: Ledger will never call, DM, or ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. If someone does, it's a scam. Stay cautious, keep your crypto safe and always Clear Sign transactions where possible.
Scammers impersonating Ledger and other crypto brands are unfortunately common. While we actively report and block them, malicious actors often pull from multiple leaks across the industry. In practice, even if a scam letter mentions Ledger, the address may have been sourced from any number of crypto‑related breaches. Because Ledger is a trusted name in self‑custody, scammers use our brand to increase the likelihood of tricking users.
Please stay vigilant against phishing attempts.
At Ledger, we've designed our technology so that your crypto and private keys remain safe, regardless of external incidents. Ledger devices are purpose-built to keep your assets secure and entirely under your control - always. We've reinforced our systems time and again to meet the highest standards of security in an increasingly connected world.
