I still vividly remember the moment everything I had built over the years collapsed. The day every part of my life fell apart simultaneously. My life got formatted and everything that I had carefully crafted just crumbled before my own eyes. A fundamental reconstruction, a total overhaul of everything I knew happened in the blink of an eye. In that moment, everything I had built my identity on melted through my fingers. My soul died! For three months, I have been facing the chaos of transformation. This has not happened in isolation. I have experienced unconditional love, and unreserved support. Sometimes I look at myself in the mirror and can’t seem to know who I am anymore! The bitter/sweet part of all this is that I will never be the same again. I have experienced pure sisterhood and I got to experience firsthand the true meaning of unreserved support. In the chaos of fundamental change, I have learnt to love more and in many aspects, I am different.

The manner in which this regime does things makes you wonder whether these people have actual thinkers in their ranks. Does the NRM have people who understand that there will be a Uganda after the NRM? Do these people think the NRM is all there should be? This much-talked-about Sovereignty Bill is absolute rubbish. It is dangerous, disastrous, and extremely unnecessary. Anyone who supports it does not love Uganda - they simply love the NRM. It’s as simple and straightforward as that. We already have legislation that checks funding (whether local or foreign) suspected to be from questionable sources or intended for questionable purposes. Every day, people’s accounts are being frozen for these very reasons. The Governor of the Bank of Uganda, Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego, has explained in detail that this bill will set us back significantly and cause a severe economic shock. But no - the powers that be do not want to listen; they think they understand the economy better. As for the lobbyists, MPs, politicians, political commentators, NRM sycophants, and influencers pushing for this bill, all I can say is that you are selfish, myopic, and extremely unpatriotic. You've chosen to safeguard your interests and fill your stomachs and purses at the expense of other Ugandans. I hope those stomachs and purses weigh you down into your graves. Bloodsuckers! Everybody needs to reject this goddam Sovereignity Bill.

Is it not instructive how ordinary and elite Ugandans have so elegantly debated, trashed KK’s so-called sovereignty bill – with wit and facts – inside parliament? All for free. Pure Nationalism. Even Imam Kasozi (who has rejected appeals to join that house) finally went in to make a presentation. Clearly, educated opinion on policy can be researched and delivered for free. Surely, 550 pampered, over-paid, non-tax-paying legislators is clearly a waste.
