Any 72 Virgins in Jannah? This topic has generated a lot of controversy, particularly from people who don't even bother to read the texts. So let me just address it. It’s actually kind of weird how this "72 virgins" phrase is just casually thrown around and joked about, even by us Muslims. Because here is the hard, technical truth: if you actually search the entire Qur'an, you will never find the number 72. Like, nowhere. The Qur'an beautifully describes Jannah as a place of ultimate peace, spiritual fulfillment, and a beautiful reunion with your righteous family. Yes, the Hoor al-Ayn (maidens of Paradise) are mentioned as a beautiful reward, but the Qur'an never attaches that specific number to them. So where did the 72 actually come from? It comes from a specific Hadith recorded by Imam Tirmidhi, and it strictly details the rewards for a Shaheed (a martyr)—someone who literally sacrificed his life on the battlefield for Allah. It is absolutely not a blanket, default reward for every single regular guy who just barely makes it into Paradise after living a normal, everyday life. Neither is it for Terrorists too. And honestly, I know it gets super awkward when critics try to reduce our entire theology to this one hyper-sexualized caricature. But they conveniently leave out the fact that Islamic scholars explicitly state that a righteous Muslim wife from this world will be the absolute queen of Jannah. She will be far superior in rank, beauty, and status to any of the Hoor because she actually went through the painful trials of this dunya, fasting, and praying. We really need to stop letting media propaganda and casual jokes reduce the unimaginable majesty of Paradise into a cheap punchline.

I want to talk about something we all hear, but rarely stop to think about. “72 virgins in Jannah.” It’s often repeated casually. Sometimes joked about. Sometimes weaponized. And yet, it rarely sounds like the Jannah the Qur’an describes.

The Premier League is an Evil League, so they expect me to go from watching Olise to Garnacho? Or Kvara to Gakpo? Or from watching this masterpiece of a game to watching set pieces and rigid football? We must fight against this evil football in the Premier League!

A teenage prodigy in quantum physics is aiming to tackle one of science’s biggest challenges: human aging. Laurent Simons earned his PhD in quantum physics from the University of Antwerp at just 15. Rather than slowing down, he has already begun a second doctorate, this time focusing on medical science and artificial intelligence. His long-term ambition is to better understand aging and disease, with the hope of helping extend healthy human lifespan. He has described death as a complex “puzzle,” made up of many interconnected pieces across biology, physics, and engineering. His strategy is to study these layers together, using AI to analyze biological systems and identify patterns that would be difficult to detect otherwise. Simons’ academic journey has been unusually fast. He completed high school by age 8, finished a bachelor’s degree at 12, and went on to earn both a master’s and PhD in quantum physics years ahead of typical timelines. His doctoral work explored advanced topics like Bose–Einstein condensates, where atoms behave as a single quantum system at extremely low temperatures. Although highly theoretical, this research underpins technologies such as quantum computing and precision measurement. Now, his focus is shifting toward biology and medicine. In AI-driven healthcare, researchers are already using machine learning to improve early disease detection, model protein structures, and accelerate drug development. In the field of aging, scientists are investigating ways to reduce cellular damage, eliminate dysfunctional cells, and better understand how the body changes over time. However, experts stress that “solving aging” is extraordinarily complex. While lifespan extension has been achieved in simple organisms, applying those findings to humans remains a major scientific hurdle. Simons himself acknowledges that meaningful progress could take decades. Even so, his path reflects a broader trend in science—where breakthroughs are increasingly happening at the intersection of disciplines, and younger researchers are setting ambitious, long-term goals. Learn more: "15-year-old genius sets his sights on solving human immortality." Brighter Side.
