We’re excited to announce that @meconemarkets will be joining @a16z @speedrun as part of the SR007 cohort. I’m also happy (and sad) to say that I’ll be leaving Stanford Law School to pursue this dream full time. Mecone started from a core thesis: the financial system of the future will be built on blockchain rails with Perpetual Futures (“Perps”) as one of the primary tools for speculation and hedging. This future will lead to markets that are more open and global, markets where participants of every kind, retail and institutional alike, trade more of the world’s assets with less friction than ever before. With this future in mind, we’re building the financial infrastructure to make everything tradeable. Today, Perps only exist on a handful of assets — the biggest commodities, FX, public equities, crypto. But there are a myriad of highly attractive long-tail assets that Perps have failed to reach. Mecone exists to change that. We build continuously updating benchmarks for long-tail underlyings such as fine art, real estate, pre-IPO companies, macroeconomic indicators, and many more. When @hugo_stack, @jaffarkeikei, and I first met, none of us imagined we’d start a company. But the prospect of making some of the global economy’s most valuable and illiquid assets tradeable by anyone, anywhere, anytime was too interesting of a challenge to pass up. Today, we're introducing Lassie and $47M in funding led by a16z. We're building AI that runs small businesses, starting with doctors' offices. Lassie is already trusted by 700+ practices across the country, working autonomously to provide them with 30 hours of labor per month. To get here, we first had to leave Robinhood and Superhuman to work in offices ourselves. Here's how that went.

WINDOWS // NYC For the past five years, I've immersed myself in a photographic, typological study of the illuminated windows of New York City at night. On June 16th, we invite you to build a new world with us, a multilayered, interconnected city of light and shadow, powered by @TransientLabs Studio. This has been my biggest undertaking to date, and is the extension of my lifelong interest in photographic patterns and generative photography. This interest was crystalized in 2021 with my project DRIVE and continued in 2022 with Drip Drop. Over the years, I've learned so much about the conceptual world of typologies, about the intersection of photographic technologies and blockchain as immutable records of consensus and truth, and of course, about how the constant evolution of technology broadens the scope of what is possible for us artists- revealing new ways to create and connect with the people who seek to do the same. The process of creating WINDOWS // NYC has been the best sort of challenge, and as always, the incredible minds at @TransientLabs have taken my ideas and built technological frameworks that have elevated this project beyond my wildest dreams. Inside my garage studio: I always wanted a workspace surrounded by cars. I have a beautiful home office, but I choose to be in here working and tinkering most days. It’s always a bit messy, but that’s kind of the point. It’s my place to be creative.
