BREAKING: In addition to the destruction of at least one HC-130J Combat King II of the U.S. Air Force inside Iran, at least a pair of MH-6M Little Bird helicopters of the 160th SOAR, used by U.S. Army Special Forces (Delta Force) during last night’s operation to rescue second F-15E crew, were also destroyed by U.S. forces. The remains of these helicopters can be seen at the FARP site, which was subsequently struck to deny access to equipment and systems. These are not signs of success—these are signs of failure. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar

My photos of one of the MC-130J Commando II, a U.S. Air Force special operations aircraft involved in the rescue mission of the second crew member of the downed F-15E of the 494th Fighter Squadron deep inside Iran. These were taken before launch of Operation Epic Fury at an undisclosed location. These aircraft must be valued at the same level as the people who operate them. Their lives matter. They are not built to be used only once in combat. CSAR mission commanders must use them in a way that avoids such losses. Unfortunately, two of these aircraft were destroyed in Iran today. Their crews risk everything to save lives—protecting these aircraft ensures they can continue to do so. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar

Remains of the USAF M/HC-130 Hercules transport aircraft destroyed by US forces before departing their forward base in Iran, used successfully to recover the downed F-15 aircrew. The aircraft had reportedly become stuck in the soft ground and were blown up to avoid capture.

BREAKING: CENTCOM sources confirm that not just one, but two aircraft were destroyed inside Iran by U.S. forces, along with two helicopters of the U.S. Army’s 160th SOAR. The two aircraft were one HC-130J and one MC-130J. The crews of these aircraft and two MH-6M helicopters, along with U.S. Army Special Forces (Delta Force), were evacuated by three other MC-130Js operating inside Iran. All of these aircraft and helicopters were subsequently destroyed on the ground, as they were no longer airworthy after sustaining heavy damage from MANPADS engagements and intensive small-arms, heavy-weapons fire and mortar firing during the operation. #OperationEpicFury #OperationLionsRoar
