@Fat_Electrician I live in an area with a decent number of data centers, they use an insane amount of power and water. My power and water bills have nearly doubled in the past 3 years. They also have gotten big tax exemptions. They take more from the community than benefit.

@YourPalAnus @ohyoudidntknw Each state here is mostly in control of their education system. So education varies from State to State. There are a lot of states that have little to no sex ed other than no sex before marriage and abstinence. It's a shit show the fails our kids.

@RetroCoast I'll tell you a little story. Many moons ago, when I worked at Walkmart, they handed us pamphlets on how to apply for SNAP. I worked just under full time hours back then. They knew they paid us so little we qualified for food stamps.

The family income in 1969 was 9,400, worth 85k today. The family income today is 90k. The average US home then was 25,600 (232k now) vs 500k today.

"Buying lunch out every day was never affordable" Bitch just 15 years ago $5 worth of fast food could feed you for an entire workweek. That's less than 1 hour of minimum wage pay by the way! Boomers are desperate for us to forget that at one point fast food was price competitive with cooking at home. In fact this strat right here likely came in under the per-meal cost of anything you could make at home for the same amount of calories and fillingness. Remember, these used to be bigger, they have shrinkflated in addition to becoming more expensive.
