A swampy mess in front of the White House. This repaint-and-resurface job was supposed to cost $1.8 million. Instead, it somehow became a $13.1 million no-bid contract. That’s not "beautification." That’s a rip-off. And yes, people should ask: kickbacks? Free work on Trump properties? Some cozy side deal? Don’t compare it to Obama’s Reflecting Pool project, either. That was a real rehab: pilings, upgraded filtration and circulation, water drawn from the Tidal Basin instead of municipal supply, a shallower pool to save water, and a tinted base to improve reflection. Obama fixed infrastructure. Trump gave us a swamp, just like everything else.
