The ACS has officially approved the Strategic Plan Greater Caribbean 2035: A Shared Horizon: From Our Common Sea Toward Sustainable Development and Well-Being — the first comprehensive long-term Strategic Plan in the Association’s 31-year history. Sustainability is no longer optional — it is a strategic necessity. The ACS, in partnership with the @GSTC_ , successfully hosted the regional webinar “Building Sustainable Tourism Destinations – From Policy to Practice: A Guide to GSTC’s Destination Tools for Sustainable Tourism Development,” convening 100+ participants from across the Greater Caribbean and beyond to strengthen how destinations measure, manage, and improve sustainability. Participants explored the GSTC Standards and Destination Assessment Tools, including the Destination Self-Assessment Tool, focused on four pillars: Sustainable Management, Socioeconomic Impacts, Cultural Impacts & Environmental Impacts. ACS Secretary-General underscored that sustainability is a strategic condition and must translate into equitable benefits for communities and stronger protection of the Caribbean Sea. This dialogue also advances the ACS Futures Initiative 2035 (ACSFI2035) by supporting practical, measurable action at the destination level. #ACS #SustainableTourism #GreaterCaribbean #ACSFI2035

During her official mission to The Bahamas, ACS Secretary-General Noemí Espinoza Madrid was welcomed to a special Junkanoo showcase—an introduction to the traditions, rhythms, and artistry behind The Bahamas’ premier cultural street parade and a powerful expression of African heritage and national unity. Cultural traditions are not only heritage—they are regional assets. Junkanoo reflects the vision of the ACS Regional Framework for Multi-destination Tourism for Cultural Heritage in the Greater Caribbean: connecting the region’s iconic celebrations and cultural assets into immersive, responsible and regenerative tourism experiences that preserve identity, strengthen communities, and elevate the Greater Caribbean brand. Through the ACS Futures Initiative 2035 (ACSFI2035), the ACS is advancing partnerships and investment-ready initiatives that help scale these cultural experiences across borders—so our traditions continue to create opportunity, inclusion, and sustainable growth for people across the region. #ACS #GreaterCaribbean #CulturalHeritage #SustainableTourism #ACSFI2035
