@cassidiz @theafroaussie Next time watu wako na akili wakiongea, stay away. Jews came to palestine as refugees, do you see what's hapening now?

@theafroaussie Our diversity is our strength. If they integrate well we might develope faster, Africans too have been settling in European states and have not been chased. Land should not be an issue, you are still poor even without Israelis here.

@WEGNERJOASH @george__agai They do have data centers for the local indie dev market. they were unable to market it. It was the talk of town in the last Decode.
English

@george__agai There are so many core tech that a company of their size can work on. They have chosen the lazy path.
For a starter, why can't they build data centers locally. The closest I can host a service is in SA. That is provided by Azure. Most of the problems do not require idea.

@DannyBrownJ @MkenyaMzi Issue is, he does not even know where the site/app is hosted, how dataflow works, database security etc.. He just prompted some random site consuming the claude API and it gave him a final product as a URL. He could get clients but could lead to a similar situation as Sifuna's.
English

@AlecksKin @MkenyaMzi The issue is URL or the issue is marketing??

I didn’t leave God… I just relocated from Nairobi churches.
Buana, let me confess something small before you judge me … if you ever see me on a Sunday morning cruising slowly along Kiambu Road, hoodie on, shades on, enjoying that soft life energy as I head toward Karura or just anywhere the road feels peaceful, just know it’s not rebellion… it’s self-preservation. Because Nairobi churches? Eh… hiyo ni syllabus ingine kabisa.
I remember when I first moved here, I was very serious about this thing. Bible in one hand, offering envelope in the other, heart pure like mafuta ya kupika, fully committed to showing up and growing spiritually like a good, disciplined believer. The Sunday was amazing warm smiles, genuine welcomes, people shaking your hand like they’ve been waiting for you your whole life. The second Sunday, they already knew my name, which felt nice… like I belonged. But by the third Sunday? They now knew my potential.
Suddenly it shifted.
“Joy, have you considered partnering with the ministry?”
“Joy, God has placed you in our hearts to support this project…”
And just like that, before you even settle in, before you even understand the culture, you slowly realize you’re no longer just a member… you’ve become a budget line. Then there’s this other part… prayers.
Ati if you want “special prayers,” you must “connect with the man of God.”
Now I’m there wondering… connect aje? Wi-Fi ama M-Pesa?
Because the way some of these things are structured, it slowly stops feeling like faith and starts feeling like a subscription plan where everything has tiers and access levels. You find yourself mentally categorizing it like:
*Basic package – general prayers
*Premium – one-on-one session
*VIP – deliverance + prophecy + follow-up 😂
And you just sit there like… surely?
Now compare that with upcountry…
My friend, huko hakuna pressure, hakuna mchezo mingi. A simple church harambee of maybe 4,000 bob by the time people finish contributing, every single coin is accounted for with honesty that doesn’t even need auditing. There’s no drama, no manipulation, no “seed kubwa ndio baraka kubwa” pressure. It’s just community in its purest form. Buana treasurer anatemembea mpaka kiatu inaisha na akona pesa yenu kwa account.
If someone is sick, people show up without being asked. If someone is struggling, contributions happen naturally. If someone succeeds, the whole place celebrates like it’s a collective win. Faith huko feels human genuine, soft, and real in a way that doesn’t feel forced or commercialized.
Now come back to Nairobi…
Even your group leader knowing your name feels like onboarding into a startup …
“Kindly fill this form…”
“Join this WhatsApp group…”
“Kindly support this initiative…”
Unajiuliza tu pole pole… hii ni kanisa ama CRM system?
So these days, my Sundays look very different, and honestly, very peaceful. There’s no alarm, no rushing to beat traffic, no mental preparation for announcements and contributions. It’s just me, a quiet drive, sometimes Karura, sometimes a random road trip with no destination, just vibes.
Music playing softly in the background, windows slightly down, Nairobi breeze doing its thing… and in those quiet moments, I find myself thinking about life, reflecting, and talking to God… directly. No middleman. No pressure. No invoices.
And before someone jumps in with, “umeacha Mungu…” Relax. I didn’t leave God… I just stepped away from the performance.
Because there’s a very real difference between religion and spirituality, and sometimes we confuse the two. Religion can start to feel like structure, systems, and expectations… but spirituality? Spirituality feels like connection raw, personal, and honest.
I chose connection.
If you see me holding the steering wheel on a Sunday morning, just know I’m still praying…
just in motion.
