@AtticusHonor @CapitolAvenue Kim. Wasn’t on the team for most of last season. And are we really blaming the Profar situation on him. Strider/Lopez have been hurt. So the poor production has been bummer and Murphy. And Murphy’s value is also with his glove. So your just mad about injuries and steroids.

@AllAmPotatoes @CapitolAvenue Edit? It’s last year’s data. So what? The point still stands. AA has a clear history of locking down contracts that get little in return compared to the market.

Joey Bart is hitting .259/.290/.379. Austin Riley is hitting .211/.292/.355.
Atlanta Braves@Braves

The #Braves tonight acquired C Joey Bart from the Pittsburgh Pirates in exchange for RHP Hunter Stratton. To make room on the 40-man roster, Atlanta designated C Sandy León for assignment.

What? NCAA would have to increase baseball scholarships from the very generous 11.7 per team. Not to mention Title IX which would mean they would have to offer the same scholarships to softball. This is a non starter designed to do exactly what it’s doing: no one is talking about a salary cap…

If MLB wants to treat college baseball as their new farm system.. Can we make sure that all these players at least get a full ride from MLB? So they go to school for free?

@CapitolAvenue $135M in payroll allocated for 2026 for Riley, Murphy, Kim, Bummer, Strider, Profar, and Lopez. Nobody gets less performance for his payroll $$ than Alex Anthopoulos.

I swear, Dubon only hits clutch hits. Like, his offensive season is decent, not great. But EVERY SINGLE hit drives in runs lol

@BravesColdTakes Better question why do we need a 3rd catcher who bats .240? This is turning into a clown show

🇺🇸 Two games at the World Cup... two wins. It is hard to overstate how awesome these two USMNT wins are... but also how little evidence to suggest this was coming over last 18 months under Pochettino. Performance at this tournament is all that mattered. So far, so good.

@HornTakes @PackTheRic @WallaceCreed24 I think the current mlb system is more player development minded and expensive. Banning HS kids will push them into a highly competitive win at all cost situation. But be less expensive for owners. It’s disingenuous to think this is anything other than the owners bottom line

Have we considered the fact that maybe Griffin and McGonigle would rather just play pro ball than go to college and that is why college baseball is a good product?
Baseball America@BaseballAmerica

"Konnor Griffin would have been LSU's shortstop." "Kevin McGonigle would have anchored Auburn's infield." Under MLB's latest CBA proposal, college baseball would get an infusion of the top talent that currently signs straight out of high school. More from @jjcoop36 here: buff.ly/m6YOFld

@HornTakes @PackTheRic @WallaceCreed24 96 HS drafted. So double what you are thinking. Which is already a decrease from the 300-400 drafted pre NIL and 20 round draft. MLB owners passing on the development buck to colleges. The best will rise. Always have always will. Agree to disagree on if it’s a good thing or not

Idk why every pitcher doesn’t learn to throw a cutter. So many otherwise mediocre pitchers develop a cutter and just keep hanging around the league getting outs

@HornTakes @PackTheRic @WallaceCreed24 That’s a mid tier p4 program. They can’t all play at LSU or Vandy. Kentucky is not spending on baseball coaches. When they are dumping millions into football/basketball. Baseball is the #2 sport at best at pretty much every school with resources.

@HornTakes @PackTheRic @WallaceCreed24 Look man. You want to be right. Cool. But a team is highly paying hitting coaches to keep them from being mlb hitting coaches. Bc they are investing in development. Colleges aren’t poaching mlb hitting coaches on the regular.

Fair enough. But that still isn’t a “big league” coach. It’s an A ball coach that gets paid a lot. The point lost in all of this is that college baseball coaching and facilities are leaps and bounds better than they were just a few years ago and playing in college has a lot more benefits than playing in the bottom end of the minors.

@HornTakes @PackTheRic @WallaceCreed24 Some of the highest paid hitting coaches are in the minors. At least the smart teams do that. The Braves have had the same hitting instructors at Augusta (low A) for 4-5 seasons. Pay them comparable to mlb instructors. It’s where they leave kids the longest to learn to hit

@PackTheRic @AllAmPotatoes @WallaceCreed24 And I’m pretty sure in my very next reply I said the kid in A ball is not working with big league coaches and players and I know you then changed the messaging to “professional” which isn’t the same thing. I don’t know much about this but at least I’m not moving the goalposts.

I need the big time soccer fans to help me out here Is this USA team really good, or is our group easy compared to other groups? (Or maybe both?) Regardless, these first two games have been fun 🇺🇸

@AllAmPotatoes @WallaceCreed24 They spend all summer and fall doing all those things. The fallacy in your argument is that college players aren’t being developed at major programs year round.
