Maybe the Braves are being overly cautious and trying to avoid an IL stint which is smart. It is kinda worrisome that Harris still isn’t in the lineup although Walt may pick a good spot to have him pinch hit tonight. They obviously don’t want him and Acuna both on the IL.

@Larry5Shot @dextown9 @Atlantaholic69 The bullpen isn’t going to help that. Truth is he is probably never going to get where he was pre injury. But minus a very bad 3 start run in July last year. He was an above average SP. which is what he is now. He’s not an ace. He’s a #3/4. And at $22m. That’s ok.

“I need to get back where I was. We’re looking at options to help with that” go to bullpen or AAA. If he went to the bullpen (which is a need) and got his groove back, figured out how to face major league hitters, then came back to starting next year, that would look like accountability and help everyone involved. It’s what Lopez is doing without the year long long winded interview

What I mean is he hasn't pitched well since 2023. Got hurt and rehabbed, came back, and hasn't pitched well. Over a year of taking accountability comments gets a little old. Keep your interviews short and prove you have it. If you don't have it then take accountability and go down to the minors and figure it out or take accountability and ask to be moved to the bullpen or something. That would be accountability. He's been giving the same interview for a year now. For all his hype he's never had a bWAR over 3.8 in one season. His CAREER bWAR is 7.6 which Sale has surpassed in 1 /2 seasons basically here. He's supposed to be our ace long term. Let's figure it out already.

@RealAGon7 I’m ready for him an IL stint and rehab and then probably DFA. But not upset about using him in the 4th inning in game 3 in coors park. Especially when bullpen is operating one less guy with the 6man rotation.

so what excuse does Aaron Bummer get today for giving up ANOTHER home run? The sooner AA acknowledges the sunken cost and moves on the better they'll be. Walt also has to stop going to the 9m mop up guy in close games.

Aaron Bummer making $9.5 million this year is one of those contracts that is so bad that instead of DFAing him he’ll be kept on the roster hurting this team every time he makes an appearance

Probably a hot take but we need to have a caste system for making tee time reservations. If you are over a 5 handicap you simply should not be allowed to play Thursday-Sunday.

For those asking why James Karinchak wasn't called up: 1) Both of these guys are likely optioned back down when Strider (Sunday) and Iglesias (next week) return 2) He pitched two of the last three days for Gwinnett, facing nine batters over 2.2 innings.

Braves fans are “so tired” of Jonah Heim but he has a better WRC+ than Austin Riley. I’m tired of Austin Riley’s ABs. Send him to the minors when Kim comes back and move Dubon to 3rd. Not kidding. Batting .193 with a .597 OPS is unacceptable.
