Y’all know both sides want a nationalized police force, right? The placing of ICE, and other armed agencies, in airports and polling places, etc, is to desensitize the public. It will become part of the background noise until it’s normal It’s been happening for a while now

@AlwaysForward__ Heavily armed military /para-military and heavily armed security at checkpoints, airports and banks is something you’d see in sub-Saharan Africa, Latin America and South Asia — for reasons that aren’t an issue in the U.S., the wealthiest country in the world.

@kkrespawned I’m not sure how often you travel, but I’ve been to many countries and all have security/law enforcement officers that are heavily armed as a deterrent at many government facilities throughout their countries, including at airports.

@BrickNicker @cow_classic @WomanDefiner That’s probably because VA benefits are paid to those who earn them in military service, not just combat. That’s the “contract” that the government has agreed to by law. Take it up with your politicians if you don’t like it.

There is an odd number of vets defending blatant fraud in the VA and that makes me think they also are committing blatant fraud. Why would you want people taking money that could go to people who need it even more?

@FidelCacheFlow Have you heard about the thousands of Marines at Camp Lejeune that drank contaminated water for decades and now have cancer and other medical conditions because of it? I’d argue they’re are entitled to every cent they get in relation to their health issues.

Unpopular opinion that will never get passed in congress VA disability should only be afforded to combat veterans. Just cuz you tore your ACL playing grab ass on a base in Kentucky doesn’t mean you should receive lifetime benefits and pay
