Just got off a call with a friend who got laid off from Oracle yesterday. His package was 48 LPA. Principal Software Engineer. 14 years at Oracle. Yesterday morning. No call. No warning. Just an automated HR email. He has two kids. One in college. One preparing for JEE next year. He didn't cry. He just sat silent for 5 minutes.
