@KevinAstrokev Lot of work but a task been planning for a while. Had to cut down a dark red LED and make a hole in it to cap over the white LED on LHS. It needed the face & the hole to be polished to improve light transmission & it had to fit in gap between the white LED & its reflector.

Modified my Petzl Tactikka+ to make the ultimate astronomer's headtorch! Rotating polariser +red filter makes continuously variable brightness one side, with 3 different brightness levels for astro drawing & low brightness needs. Other side the original bright red LED for imaging

My processed Saturn from the very good seeing last Thursday night. Best of the season for me. Moons are Tethys and Dione on left and Mimas faintly to right of rings. Enceladus in transit but no sign of it on images.
