@MrRBourne I watch very little soccer but my impression is - refs are either not good or ‘on the take’ and players ‘dive’ at every opportunity. During WC I’ve seen refs too scared to card well known players.

I'm sorry, but the original offside decision should have stood there. The other US player was clearly offside and bearing down on the goalkeeper. Certainly interfering with play.
