This resulted in a Conservation Management Plan (CMP) that outlines the building’s history & significance while establishing policies to manage its evolution. Supported by a grant from the Getty Foundation, the CMP provides a road map for City Hall’s future & preservation.

Those in Boston know that City Hall’s brutalist architecture has undergone decades of maintenance & overhauls. As a government building, changes were necessary to accommodate online transactions, vital security upgrades after 9/11 & necessary enhancements to meet accessibility.
