@mapleblooded I'm Gen X, my parents didn't pay for my school. I lived in the family home, rent free though. I worked p/t, f/t in summer and saved $$. No loans for my BA, went to college for a 2 yr technical diploma after, same deal.

I don’t know a single Millennial whose Boomer parents paid for their education. Co-signing a loan isn’t paying for something. From what I’ve learned from friends and coworkers is that’s a behaviour that Gen Xers engage in. What’s your experience?

While people are high fiving and poking at Poilievre and the CPC about the floor crossings, I will freely admit that I really do agree that a byelection or some system (sit as an independent maybe?) would be an appropriate measure. I know it's "how the system works" but I also understand how I would feel as a voter if I voted for someone who crossed the floor. Additionally, I understand the MP represents the riding and the will of that constituency and not the party they belong to, but many people truly do vote for party (which you shouldn't) but that's reality. I do absolutely understand the arguement.
