The PAC-12 is Power 5. The rest of the country can try to deny it as long as they want, but the PAC is back.

This graphic unfairly judges the new PAC 12 using 2024 data, where 2 surviving teams were gutted, under resourced, and fighting to stay alive. The 1-15 record and 2 draft picks reflect programs keeping the lights on and not the relaunched conference. 🤫🤫🤫

Some notes: • The biggest drop anywhere in the chart is from #1 Texas to #2 Kentucky. Texas does not get a break anywhere, their weakest opponent is tougher than Texas Tech’s average opponent. • There’s really no gap between the SEC/Big Ten and ACC/Big 12, or the P4 and G6. Stronger conferences have stronger averages, but there aren’t sharp cutoffs. • Half the Pac-12 is above several P4 teams. Houston would have a bottom 3 Pac-12 schedule.

@oleBennyAdams The PAC-12 is in now way, shape, form or fashion a P5 conference. You cannot take 6 mid major programs and add them to 2 what was a power conference rejects and sprinkle in a non-football basketball program and reclaim to be a power conference, it doesn’t work that way.
