To the technocapitalist, a musician’s value is based on how cost effectively they can create a product that people consume. To them, GenAI is more efficient than humans at creating consumable products, therefore, it is better at music. the natural conclusion of free markets

We reverse engineered the audio chip in the SNES and figured out how to do realtime Dolby Surround by playing sound effects out of phase to encode the audio in a way that Dolby Prologic (Surround) decoders would be able to process it correctly into Left Center Right and Rear, and used the technique in the King Arthur's World game on SNES. Probably the first game on SNES to have surround sound - shipped in Nov 1992 as Royal Conquest in Japan, and King Arthur's World in the west. Samurai Showdown shipped much later - in 1994. In order for the surround sound to be reproduced you needed a Dolby Prologic decoder, which was built into most a/v amps as this was used to decode surround sound in movies, but probably no longer included in built-in TV Audio, as the much later Dolby AC3 (digital surround) superseded it. And nowadays Dolby Atmos, is the encoding most commonly used today.
