Out of all the Fact Fluency programs/kits available, which one would you recommend using district wide and why?

@TheRealLindsay2 Have this teacher map out exactly what the other students will be doing when they are working with a small group. How will students know what to work on? What to do when they are finished?

@CMichalyshen @myfcs @pgliljedahl Yes! Thank you for clarifying. That makes a lot of sense. I added an explanation of the model activity Peter led through us below bullet point 9. (I changed the bullet points to numbers so it is easier to reference .😊 Let me know your thoughts.

@mccainm @myfcs @pgliljedahl Yes, I am referring to the 7 types of lessons you mentioned, very interested in the Factual Lesson (#6 of the lessons not the sixth bullet point). Hope that makes sense, thanks!

@CMichalyshen @myfcs @pgliljedahl I thought I knew what you were asking because @pgliljedahl model a task to be used in a factual activity. But when I checked bullet #6 - the information doesn't relate to that activity. Can you clarify what you meanby checking? Are you referring to answer checking?

Also if you weren't in attendance but heard about it from a friend, what did you hear?

Okay. If you were in attendance at the #LitMath2024 closing session, what message did you take from it? Will it have an impact on your practice, and if so, what is that impact? I have my own thoughts, but I recognize that I may be biased and want to hear from others first.

Take a moment to read Jack McCreedy’s (a grade 12 student at Nelson McIntyre Collegiate) thoughts on Provincial Exams. If he is able to demonstrate this level of critical thinking and express his thoughts this well, does he even need to write an exam? winnipeg-can.newsmemory.com/?publink=0f99f…

Instructional coaching seems to be a thing at the moment. I have two questions. 1. On what basis is advice being offered to those being coached? Is it informed by evidence? 2. Do coaches use an explicit teaching model — I do, we do, you do? For example, if I am coaching you, is the first step for you observe me teach my class or maybe your class?
