Statement | Sixteen Arab and Islamic nations strongly condemn Israel's announcement of appointing a diplomatic envoy to the so-called “Somaliland” Doha | April 18, 2026 We, the foreign ministers of the State of Qatar; the State of Kuwait; Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Arab Republic of Egypt; Federal Republic of Somalia; Republic of the Sudan; State of Libya; People's Republic of Bangladesh; People's Democratic Republic of Algeria; State of Palestine; Republic of Türkiye; Republic of Indonesia; Islamic Republic of Pakistan; Islamic Republic of Mauritania; Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and Sultanate of Oman strongly condemn Israel's appointment of a diplomatic envoy to the so- called Somaliland. We consider it a blatant violation of the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia. We reiterate our categorical rejection of all unilateral actions that infringe upon the unity or sovereignty of states, emphasizing our unwavering support for the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Somalia, and our support for the legitimate Somali state institutions as the sole representatives of the will of the Somali people. We also stress that such actions are a clear violation of the principles of international law, the United Nations Charter and the Constitutive Act of the African Union, and represent a dangerous precedent that could undermine stability in the Horn of Africa region, negatively impacting regional peace and security in general. #MOFAQatar

I strongly condemn Saturday’s attack on @UNIFIL_ during which one French peacekeeper was killed & another three were injured. I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends & colleagues of the fallen peacekeeper, and wish a full & fast recovery to the injured peacekeepers. This is the third incident in recent weeks to have resulted in the deaths of peacekeepers serving in Lebanon. These attacks must stop. All actors must respect the cessation of hostilities & the ceasefire.

We mourn the loss of Sergeant First Class (Res.) Lidor Porat, 31, from Ashdod, a soldier in the 7106th Battalion, 769th Regional Brigade, who fell during combat in Lebanon.
Our hearts are with his family and loved ones.

12-year-old Dereon James Robinson and 9-year-old Mikhail Lee Smith were killed by an illegal alien driving under the influence.
These boys had their whole lives ahead of them. Instead, they were senselessly taken from this world by someone who never should have been in our country.

The Republic of Somaliland is the ONLY peaceful, democratic, stable, and terror-free success story in the entire Horn of Africa.
Israel has acknowledged this truth and is forging a genuine partnership with us. We all understand that your false condemnation stems solely from hatred for Israel and a desire to prevent the Republic of Somaliland, a Muslim nation, from gaining independence from your influence.
