@RndmStreetMedic 2/2 But said person is refusing medical attention and won’t go to the hospital for treatment/evaluation. EMS has to get the police involved and if need be, have them detained under the mental health act to be taken to hospital for needed treatment and assessment.

Do not bring the cops into our homes. If you need to do a wellness check, grab friends and neighbors and do a wellness check. Build relationships with people around you. But for the love of all things (un)holy, stop involving the fking cops.

@RndmStreetMedic I see the points here, but what happens when said friends and/or neighbours go to check on said person, and can’t get an answer on the phone or at the door? What happens if they do get access and said person is in the midst of serious self harm, and they call for an ambulance1/2

@ChefMedic I’m not very good at that (is anyone?) I curl into myself, shutout everyone I care about and emerge …. eventually. The one thing I have learned is not to fight it. We all have to go “through it”. There is no short cut.

@trackwanderer I started to use my sick time as “mental health days” when I was at the safe injection site.

Hell no. I decided on my own. I was very concerned about my mental health and was very free in given out mental health days to myself.

Read a chickpea “cookie dough” recipe that sounded great, but you had to individually peel chickpeas for the texture and flavour. I sat down with Survivor for an hour, peeling each chickpea. I blended them all up. Chickpea cookie dough tastes like chickpeas 🤦‍♀️
