Hello everyone! Starting today, expired CNS domains will stop resolving. Visit xch.cool to renew your domain! (PS: No registration fee will be charged during renewal, only the annual fee and royalties) Renewal process: 1. Search for the domain you previously registered. If it’s expired, an expiration notice and a renewal button will appear. 2. Click renew to generate an offer. 3. Use your wallet that previously held your CNS NFT to accept the offer. Once accepted, the expired NFT will be automatically destroyed, and a new CNS NFT will be issued to your wallet. 4. If your domain expires without renewal, it will stop resolving and enter a grace period. During this period, only the original holder can renew the domain. If the grace period ends without renewal, the domain will be released, and anyone can register it. Currently, the CNS domain fee is divided into three parts: - Registration Fee: Only charged at initial registration. Used to support developers within the Chia ecosystem (not limited to CNS). - Annual Fee: Charged yearly, employed to maintain normal operations of CNS services and support of CNS-associated ecosystem. - Royalty: 5%, utilized to incentivize our CNS agents. #CNS #Chia

I’ve supported both, but it’s hard to keep buying year after year for little to no real functionality when you can’t even post a .xch name on X without having to specify which service it’s on, and worrying about wallet compatibility

It’s a wonder we don’t talk more about how silly and unmanageable it is that we have two domain registries that both use .xch. It would have been so easy for CNS to use .chia (like .doge) or something similar after Namesdao had already sold thousands of domains

At any time, on-chain transfers should be carefully confirmed twice (such as marking both the domain name and the address instead of just sending a domain name), no matter which blockchain it is on. The domain name is only convenient for quick input, but the address comparison is still needed. (Be safe!) In addition, if you are a CNS user, you can use 'yourname'.xch.cool as your unique personal homepage to display (including your address and NFT holding information) to facilitate others to confirm your identity. For example hiya1024.xch.cool When integrating services, ecological applications will also make distinctions in the UI. If a name is registered with several service providers at the same time, it will be easy to identify.
