Frank Stefani compared solar variability and CO₂ emissions as drivers of sea surface temperatures. His study estimates a transient climate response (TCR) of about 1.1 to 1.4 degrees, near the lower end of the IPCC range. The results align closely with other observation-based estimates. The climate debate is often reduced to a narrow narrative with little room for uncertainty or alternative interpretations. Nicola Scafetta’s new book, The Frontier of Climate Science, was written to address this gap. It examines the complex interplay between solar variability, natural climate cycles, and the limits of current climate models. clintel.org/the-frontier-o…

@dennisdekker72 No, if you could measure 'current' levels in an ice core, this would be a good guess. Because the value in ice cores are representative for a much longer period.

@ClintelOrg So if i understand correctly, you claim that current CO₂-levels are actually lower than the measured mauna loa level?

We often see graphs of past CO₂ concentrations from ice cores simply sliced onto modern instrumental measurements. The modern CO₂ spike looks dramatic, even alarming. But that is not a fair comparison, explains Renee Hannon. clintel.org/why-the-modern…

Nicola Scafetta has published an excellent new book that is a very important contribution towards grasping the true complexity of Earth's climate. He describes the book in a post at Climate Etc. judithcurry.com/2026/03/10/ret…

@dennisdekker72 Is not the issue here; this is just about how to do a fair comparison with current CO2 levels (measured) and values from ice cores (smoothed values)

@ClintelOrg If this is true, then what is the value of Happer's CO₂ saturation-theory? CO₂-level still rises, but is below where Happer claims that saturation is reached. So much more greenhouse effect then expected?

Key graph in the article: Figure 2: Firn smoothing effects for low snow accumulation sites; Dome C and Vostok. Six different calculations were run for 100, 200, and 300 years temporal resolution smoothing. Bk=backward. MMCO₂ = muted modern CO₂ These “suppressed” curves illustrate how dramatically firn diffusion would dampen today’s rapid rise if it were recorded in low-accumulation Antarctic ice cores. Averaged computations show the mean Muted Modern CO₂ (MMCO₂) value for 2025 is 345 ppm +/- 24 ppm compared to the Mauna Loa annual record of 427 ppm.

As promised, the climate science obliteration has arrived TODAY. The IPCC's central claims have now been torn apart. The oceans are not “warming” let alone “boiling.” That claim is false. The claimed Earth Energy Imbalance is false. It's no different from zero. Full demolition: Cohler et al. (2026) IPCC's Earth Energy Imbalance Assessment is Based on Physically Invalid Argo-Float-Based Estimates of Global Ocean Heat Content doi.org/10.5281/zenodo… Press Release: doi.org/10.5281/zenodo… Easy-to-Read Summary: doi.org/10.5281/zenodo…

Africa does not need Western pity, and it certainly does not need Western solar panels. While the rest of the world is moving toward greater prosperity, Africa is being forced to follow a path of poverty. This is an indictment of the modern ‘green’ agenda. clintel.org/green-ideology…

This is fun! Four years ago, The @Guardian reported that Spain and Portugal are becoming too dry because of [man-made] climate change. 🏜️ But, after the devastating floods in the fall of 2024, The Guardian changed their tune. They now say Spain is too wet thanks to climate change. 🌧️ The real-world data, however, tells a consistent story. A study published in Nature last March analyzed long-term rainfall data in the Mediterranean and found that no statistically significant trends exist in the region as a whole. 🗨️ “𝐻𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑤𝑒 𝑠ℎ𝑜𝑤 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑀𝑒𝑑𝑖𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑒𝑎𝑛 𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑐𝑖𝑝𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑙𝑎𝑟𝑔𝑒𝑙𝑦 𝑟𝑒𝑚𝑎𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑑 𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑓𝑟𝑜𝑚 1871 𝑡𝑜 2020, 𝑎𝑙𝑏𝑒𝑖𝑡 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑠𝑖𝑔𝑛𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑐𝑎𝑛𝑡 𝑚𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑖-𝑑𝑒𝑐𝑎𝑑𝑎𝑙 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑢𝑎𝑙 𝑣𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦… 𝑊ℎ𝑖𝑙𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑏𝑒 𝑖𝑑𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑖𝑓𝑖𝑒𝑑 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑜𝑑𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑢𝑏𝑟𝑒𝑔𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠, 𝑜𝑢𝑟 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑔𝑠 𝑎𝑡𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑏𝑢𝑡𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑠𝑒 𝑡𝑟𝑒𝑛𝑑𝑠 𝑝𝑟𝑖𝑚𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑙𝑦 𝑡𝑜 𝑎𝑡𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑝ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑖𝑐 𝑑𝑦𝑛𝑎𝑚𝑖𝑐𝑠, 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑐ℎ 𝑤𝑜𝑢𝑙𝑑 𝑏𝑒 𝑚𝑜𝑠𝑡𝑙𝑦 𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑘𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜 𝑖𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛𝑎𝑙 𝑣𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑡𝑦.” 🔗 nature.com/articles/s4158… Interestingly, in Spain, there has been little trend in rainfall since 1871. However, if the analysis starts in 1951, there is a significant decrease (p <0.05), while starting in 1981 yields a statistically significant increase (p <0.05). This just goes to show that people (like the writers at The Guardian) can manipulate data to get a desired trend to suit a specific narrative.

@scruffy65 I personally don't care either. The article describes a trend though, that nowadays more women start opposing the climate agenda than let's say ten years ago. Do you also observe this and if so, what could be the reason?

In the climate debate, female skeptics are few and far between. However, this has been changing recently. Both in science and the media, women are increasingly speaking out against what they see as a frightening and socially disruptive agenda. This is a very positive development. In this article @marcelcrok, science writer and Clintel director, gives an overview of women who are (or were) active in the climate debate. Featuring @curryja @LinneaLueken @LLBiggers @desireefixler @JoanneNova, Sallie Baliunas, Jennifer Marohasy and Danielle Carl. clintel.org/women-are-spea… Curry, Lueken and Biggers will attend the upcoming @HeartlandInst Conference in Washington. @ClintelOrg is leadership sponsor of this conference and Marcel Crok will be speaking there. @wattsupwiththat @CO2Coalition @CFACT climateconference.heartland.org
