@CowboyColonel I’m interested to see what Klein can do with Johnson. I really don’t know what to expect from Kstate this year tbh

@BuffalOKstate Houston won a ton of coin flip games last year and went 3-3 at home. I think we can improve into coin flip territory this year. Tech still out-talents us, but QB troubles could break them this season. I no longer think of that game as an automatic loss.

@BuffalOKstate Move Kansas State to the win column, Houston to the toss up column, and Tech to a new "Heavily Favored" column and you have my predictions for the season. I think Klein has enough growing pains as a first time head coach that KSU takes a step back.

Respectfully, Sorsby checked himself into a residential treatment center for a gambling addiction.

@jlkurtz Allegations of betting Kurtz. Until there is hard evidence it is just allegations. It may end up that this is true, but let's allow the evidence to play out.

@ImmaculateView Plus what kind of message does that send other Big XII member Cincinnati? They're suing Sorsby for breach of contract over being poached by Tech. Best to just run it back with Hammond or give one of the other QBs a go.

@ImmaculateView ...that Yormark take some of the heat for Tech to go and break those rules. The Sorsby situation is unfortunate for Tech, but it's not like there's NO quarterbacks in Lubbock, TX at the moment.

I think the current Texas Tech situation is one that Yormark could use to rebuild his relations with Tech. Sorsby is cooked, there is no stopping what is coming there. Where he might be able to help Tech though is in providing some cover fire for Tech to go out and bring in a transfer QB outside of the portal window. That action could come with serious penalties, penalties that Tech may be ok with, but if Yormark can help get those penalties reduced then that would probably go a long ways towards repairing some of that relationship.

@TheWildUte Have to think it's no longer Tech's chip to lose, and makes me think we'll have our third set of new CCG participants since the start of this new Era of CFB. Cowboys and Utes in Arlington?

@brentincbad @TheWildUte At the risk of sounding insensitive to the Sorsby situation the Houston, Arizona State, Oklahoma State, and TCU games just turned to coin flips.

@TheWildUte They still have the easiest path to the BIG12 title game (see their schedule) and their backup is pretty good. However, this definitely makes it much more interesting.

@BuffalOKstate Given the fact he signed a two year deal, I have to think he stays at least two years and is leaving his Senior year open as an option.

@stonybiby @BuffalOKstate If he declared for the draft he'd have to be reasonably sure he'd go in the top 15 to beat his reported $4 mil NIL deal for 2026.

The reason people think OKC gets away with more fouls. Let’s say a 10 is a foul and is called a foul on everyone. OKC plays at a 8 all the time. Most other teams play at about a 6. When you go from a 8 to a 10 it’s much less obvious than when you go suddenly from a 6 to a 10

@ImmaculateView Am I wrong in thinking the split also won't strictly be an A4/G6 split? I could see the PAC and the AAC making a concerted effort to jump up too.

I get why fans of G Conference programs think its a bad thing if they end up in a different subdivision than the A4. The things that I see said in manifestation of that fear though, those things are already happening. Just look at the draft at how many G program players got drafted vs how many A4 draftees came from G programs in previous seasons. The fear manifests in having no visibility to keep players around for and for falling even more behind in funding. These things are already happening right now with the way it is currently. You get one, maybe two teams into the tournament so the visibility for the whole is pretty terrible. Your conference championships dont get attention because that is pretty much the end of the road for most participants in them. There just isnt much meaningful post season visibility for players to stick around for if they have any kind of NFL aspirations. The best option for the G's at this point is to have their own tournament that the CFP has to put on and market. Use this opportunity to get the CFP to bundle the games of that tournament along with the games of the A4 tournament. The Subdivision split is coming in D1. The CFP's default operating process is to follow NCAA rules. When that Subdivision split happens, A4 and G conference members wont be able to be in the same post season competitions in football. The CFP will HAVE to create a second tournament. This is not an option. So I hope the leaders at those G conference members are thinking more proactively on how to make the most of what is coming instead of just being victims of it. It became inevitable the moment they voted to create this. They handed the A4 the ability to create this so long as the A4 all vote together.
