@pontificatormax I always loved what I heard about OD. I made several attempts to find and connect with Opus Dei in 2024-2025, and couldn't even figure it out, or no one ever got back to me when I could find a contact. It's so secretive, you can't join if you try.

All I know is abortion rates have almost doubled in five years. As you said, women may not even know it's murder. If no one says it, how will they know? Charity without truth is not kind. TBF, these sisters do great work, and we can't see it all in clips, but the ProLife message has been failing for a long time.

@DMPacer @RealMattFradd Might work for some, I suppose. Lectures usually harden hearts, in my own experience, you clearly have a different view.

@DMPacer @RealMattFradd Agreed, but changing hearts that have been so misled by extreme feminism and abortion advocacy requires love and gentleness. "A spoonful of honey attracts more flies than a barrelful of vinegar" St. Francis de Sales.

@ColmWhelan @RealMattFradd I don't mind being misgendered, just bringing it up bc pp assume clear denunciation of abortion is only coming from mean old men, who (in their opinion) should have no say. I think many in the ProLife movement have lost the thread. Abortion rates have nearly doubled since 2021.

@DMPacer @RealMattFradd Well, God Bless you, sister. And my apologies for the misgendering. I'm a father, and a child who was born to an unwed mother in the 60's. I've been anti-abortion my whole life, other than a short flirtation with the left, when I was young and foolish.

That's all true. But they are often pretty clear about what's in their hearts. It's ok to call murder murder. If we keep coddling people, they will continue to minimize this evil. We need both justice and mercy for sure, but the ProLife movement is waaay out of balance on this issue. We have lost ground due to lack of clarity.

@DMPacer @RealMattFradd The thing is, neither you, nor I nor any other person knows what's in anyone's heart. Only God knows. This mindset is a failing of mine, of assuming I know what's what with the sins I see in others, when really I don't even know what's what with my own.

I am a woman, I've had babies. Jesus would say "Go and sin no more." We don't even call sin, sin. Always replace the word "abortion"with "infanticide" and see how it feels. "My boyfriend wants to kill our newborn, but me, I'm not sure." Nuns: "Awww, you have a beautiful mother's heart."

@DMPacer @RealMattFradd The question to ask is "how would Jesus treat this person, if they were standing at a well or about to be stoned?" Law is very important, but it sits below love. BTW, I'm terrible at this myself, but I've just come from mass and am feeling the Spirit. God Bless you, brother.

@ColmWhelan @RealMattFradd Sin certainly clouds our judgment and darkens the intellect, but the law of God remains on our hearts. Every one has heard that abortion is murder, they just reject the view to justify their sin.

@DMPacer @RealMattFradd Remember, grave matter, full knowledge, deliberate consent. I agree that abortion is murder. I also know that most people no longer believe that. The pro-abortion crowd have been preaching it for decades. Her repentance is evident in her use of the words "never again".

@JamieBonkiewicz Thanks for speaking out. There is a reason why most OBGYNs want no part of this nasty business. Criminalize abortion for all involved.

There is much to say about each of these points, which either proceed from protestant assumptions nowhere in Church history, and/or misrepresent the Catholic position. But one thing that is absolutely false is the first point. As someone blessed to be in their writings almost every day for almost 9 years now, I have found astounding unanimity among the Fathers on many different subjects, and even small details of Scriptural interpretation (to say nothing of their unanimity on the Church—more below). But even on this, when one Father observes something different than another in Scripture, virtually every time, this isn’t a contradiction, but equally Catholic, and in accordance with the “Rule of Faith.” Protestants often automatically present this as a contradiction, but Catholics don’t, and have never seen it that way. For example, our answer to the question “Was the Rock Christ, St. Peter, or Peter’s Confession?” is simply “Yes,” because each aspect symphonically reinforces the others. And beyond even that, all the Fathers agreed that the Catholic Church had authority from God to issue binding definitions on the faith, and that such definitions could only issue from the successors of the Apostles, the bishops (with virtual unanimity about a superior authority of some kind in the bishop of Rome). They believed this because they knew they were not inspired, or infallible, as individual men. But they knew the Church was indeed infallible, and had authority from Christ to teach the whole world ONE and the SAME faith. They always and everywhere speak of the Church as having ONE teaching, ONE government, ONE worship, ONE canon law, ONE faith, etc. Protestants cannot make this claim for themselves, and have never been able to. So even if they got things wrong—which many of them admitted they could—the Fathers knew the Church would not. They knew that when a theological issue was resolved, it would ONLY be resolved within THAT Church. Not by a heretical sect who had long since left it; or by a schismatic group that stood aloof from it. I hope this shows why attempts such as those below by this protestant fellow are superficial at best, if not outright false.
Josh Barzon@JoshuaBarzon

Very good points here. I love and respect many of the early church fathers. But their teachings and writings must always be viewed as below scripture. Not equal with it.

@RuthInstitute This is why there need to be criminal penalties. It would end the struggle. Most women would not risk prosecution for murder. Women are not victims. They know what they are doing. Equal Protection, Abolish Abortion now. Justice for all.

Only 8% of population in WV is Catholic, in an already small state. And in decline, unlike other states. I don't think he will turn it around. It's actually not a great assignment. I can imagine him trying to tell poor rural people about how they are selfish for not "welcoming" illegals.

@JordanHardwic10 @vox861 @J_K_Wood If there are direct payments to birth mothers, yes, that would be unethical and should be illegal. It is illegal, but there are problematic loopholes. It's ok to focus on one area of evil, like surrogacy, while acknowledging that other evil exists. Thanks.

This isn’t a woman. It’s a lonely, isolated man with loads of trauma and mental illness. He simply found a way to force your acceptance through a protected class engineered by lunatics. Unfortunately his trauma is not my problem, and I’m not his costume.
