Joining the exodus to Bluesky. Tired of broligarch in chief Musk turning this platform into a hate filled cesspit of misinformation, rage bait and abuse. Hopefully it will be more pleasant over there! If you're also there let me know. @misterwise.bsky.social

@MrSalami_ By the time they eventually came on they had lost the crowd and did nothing to get people back on side. So disappointing. And what the hell was going on with the fairy lights around the decks?!

I never thought I would see the day people would be booing Black Star at O2 Brixton, but here we are. They brought out Common, which was cool.

@GoodwinMJ So what you're saying is: Renationalise the railways as current model doesn't work. Acknowledged growing wealth inequality has consequences with regards to rent, poverty & crime. You're overtly racist about Londoners. Got it

All these things happened to me in London today I paid nearly £30 for a train ticket to take me into London from a town just 30 miles away —on a Saturday The first person I sat next to, I think from India, decided to have a FaceTime conversation with his friend on speakerphone so we all had to listen to it The train was late by 40 minutes due to unexplained “signalling issues”. It was also filthy. I paid nearly £8 for a pint I offered a woman my seat on the tube without realising she was with a man who intervened and said “no man”. He was not from the UK. I think he took my gesture as an insult. I was asked for money by homeless people 3 times in one day I noticed several people who are paid to give information to taxpayers and tourists over the tannoy on the London Tube cannot speak English properly A cabbie told me “London is dead most nights”, unless you are the global high net worth set or top 1% Restaurants are visibly struggling and often hideously overpriced I had dinner in a neighbourhood where the average rent is £3,663 per month while half of all local social housing has gone to people who were not even born in the UK I was constantly aware I should not get my phone out on the street as 80,000 were stolen last year I also read on the way back while checking that stat that there were 90,000 shoplifting offences in London last year, up 54% My train back —delayed—was suddenly changed at the last minute with all passengers on board. They were told it would no longer be stopping at all stops. I bought a tin of instant coffee on the way home and it had a security tag on it Maybe I’m in a bad mood and perhaps it’s amusing to think how somebody of my political outlook is “triggered” but to me there is a deeper point here London is over —it’s so over It’s a city in visible decline with deteriorating standards and no real sense of identity or belonging Going in and out of our capital city is a truly miserable experience Infrastructure is falling apart, as is the social contract I’ve been coming in and out of London since 1981 I simply cannot remember a time when it’s been this visibly dire and when so many things just do not work as they should

@RupertLowe10 The community I live in is diverse, cohesive and amazing. Growing wealth inequality is making people poorer and eroding social cohesion, not people from other countries. Your post is as ignorant as it is racist. You're projecting your own bias on issues above your intellect.

Walk down almost any high street in England. There’s a vape shop, run by a foreign man who can barely speak English. There’s a Turkish barber, run by a foreign man who can barely speak English. There’s an ‘asian’ grocery store, run by a foreign man who can barely speak English. Character, gone. Community, gone. Independent British shops, mostly wiped away. It just doesn’t feel like England anymore. Does all of this make our country richer? It certainly doesn’t feel like it, walking through the decaying heart of almost every town in the country. The quiet, relentless erosion of community by the sheer scale and pace of change imposed from above - the sense that we were one nation, one people. It all just feels gone. When gangs of foreign men loiter on street corners, shouting in their own language, drinking and spitting. Are we supposed to just accept that as normal? Is that now what our country is? Women feeling intimidated in their own towns? Because I don’t like it. It did not used to be like this. It’s not England. And it doesn’t have to be like this. The change that has been imposed on us? It is not permanent. It is not irreversible. It is not inevitable. Before any of that can happen, we need to get our politicians to even begin to discuss these issues - honestly, openly and without fear. Labour, Reform, Conservative. All scared of their own shadows, terrified of being called racist by an establishment media based in leafy Surrey towns that are yet to be enriched by all of this wonderful immigration. I am so past caring about what these people think. We deserve to feel at home in the towns that our ancestors built. Not unsafe, not intimidated, not unwelcome. I’ve had enough of it. The British people have had enough of it. It’s time the rest of Westminster caught up.

The fires in LA are impossible to comprehend and scale of destruction is apocalyptic. Like many others, my good friends lost their house and the insurance company has screwed them. They are some of the nicest people ever, please consider donating so they can rebuild their lives. gofund.me/4e45a833

As December draws to a close I've been reflecting on my year and many of the great shows I've been involved with. Things kicked off in January with the highly prestigious Joy Awards where I created performance visuals for Assala, Bebe Rexha and Gloria Gaynor, bringing a mix of Escheresque set extensions, industrial lighting effects and classic glam to the performances. I then went on to create the broadcast package for the Grammys, bringing an understated sophistication to the well loved gramophone, complementing the energy and visceral appeal of digital artist David McLeod who’s flowing golden sculptures set the visual language for the show. I then transitioned to rock mode, helping to add another dimension to Journey’s worldwide stadium tour using a variety of techniques. Evolving the imagery of their album covers using AI we created a rich new world to explore, featured throughout the performance is gave a sense of familiarity yet freshness to their set. Carrying on the rock theme it was great fun to help add some new content to AC/DCs Power Up tour. Keeping it playful but always metal, I worked across multiple tracks. From neon lit ladies of the night, exploding logos, a bronze Angus and lightning filled mountains, the visuals were as playful and high energy as the band's infamous performance. A key highlight of the year was working on Adele’s world record breaking residency in Munich. I took a deep dive into refractions and all their abstract beauty for ‘Water Under The Bridge’ which also ended up in the show programme and as a limited edition merch poster. I also created the intro for ‘Set Fire To The Rain’. Rounding things off was Halsey’s Amazon Music Live session, where I created an intimate scene that mixed the sensibilities of a high school performance with the showmanship of a vintage circus with flowing drapes and arabesque star lighting. As ever it’s always about the people so massive shout outs to the amazing people at Hello Charlie, Pixels and Noise, Treatment & the super talented Terry Scruby. I’m already deep into the next projects and very much looking forward to 2025.

@bt_uk Want to cancel my broadband contract with you when it ends next month. The only way to do that is on the phone. Waits of an hour to do so. Is there another way to cancel as i'm not waiting an hour to speak to someone.
