They are supporting something new to us: -Sales Tax Increment Financing (Sales TIF) -Income Tax Increment Financing (Income TIF) AIM is backing a financing approach similar to traditional TIF, but instead of using property taxes, it leverages future sales or income taxes generated by a new development to help fund the project itself. Taxes are not increased. The government redirects new tax revenue from the project back into the project. HOWEVER, this method is less visible to the public than traditional property-tax TIF.
