I recently spoke at @conf42com about a shift that most people are still treating as a crypto headline but is actually a fundamental rewrite of global financial plumbing. Stablecoins are no longer just speculative tools. In 2025, they moved $28 trillion in volume. To put that in perspective, it is nearly triple what Visa handles. The real story here is the move toward cloud native payment infrastructure. Traditional banking is still stuck in the 1970s with batch processing and business hours. With the US GENIUS Act now in full force, we are seeing the Great Deposit Migration where trillions could leave legacy banks for rails that offer five second settlement finality. We looked at Polygon as the prime example of this evolution. Their technical upgrades like Heimdall v2 and the Rio roadmap have turned a blockchain into a production grade settlement layer capable of thousands of transactions per second. But as the Chivo wallet failure in El Salvador showed us, you cannot just ship a minimum viable product for a national economy. You need observability, compliance as code, and institutional custody.
