Even as an Englishman there is a lot to unpack here 🤣

@EdgeCGroup @50cent United Kingdom is such a fake 1800s country. I'd rather see more ethnic indigenous peoples like the Welsh or Irish

@9to5toMarkets Thanks for this. I was surprised to see a lot more adverts around investing. A good thing, but it will take a while to change a culture.

Agreed. For whatever reason, the number of investors vs population isn’t quite like the US in the UK.
Far too much of a financial illiteracy in the country. As well as irresponsibility.
Though, you almost can’t blame society for it.
Finance should be a national curriculum.
That said and might be a bit tin foil hat, the more literate in finance society is the less power the government have over retirement age and therefore system income via taxes amongst other advantages for them and disadvantages for the working.

Speaking to a lot of people in the UK lately, the culture still isn’t really built around investing. It’s moved on from saving, but not in the right direction.
Instead of compounding capital, many are pulling equity out of their homes to fund lifestyle upgrades; cars, holidays, short-term consumption. It feels like progress on the surface, but structurally it’s just leverage replacing discipline.
That said, there’s a noticeable shift starting. More long-term investing ads on TV, more conversation creeping in. Early signs, but the mindset hasn’t caught up yet.

@EdgeCGroup I suspect that the Grim Reaper is currently taking a right kicking by Chuck

@StealthQE4 It’s only ridiculous if you think of U.S. debt like a household credit card. That’s the mistake.
The U.S. doesn’t need to “pay it back” in the way people imagine. It needs to manage it, roll it, and sustain confidence in it.
English

Ridiculous
How can the US debt seriously ever be paid back.
It’s laughable.

U.S. Debt projected to hit $150 Trillion within 30 years says the CBO 🤯👀

@EdgeCGroup Jim, even on British trains w 5 menu items they serve chicken tikka masala sandwich and spicy pizza.

@EdgeCGroup I've sat home and thought, "Boy, I'd like some spotted dick." 🤣

@jimbaugh9 We used to walk because we had to. Shorter distances, fewer cars, less perceived risk. Now it’s a line of cars because everything’s changed. Bigger school zones, bus cuts, tighter schedules, and parents optimizing for time and safety.
English

@EdgeCGroup Except many years ago, we walked to and from school. Now there is a stream of soccer moms dropping kids at the door

I left the tri state over a year ago. When you keep taxing the people creating the most value, you don’t get stability, you get an eventual exit. There’s always a breaking point. The smart ones don’t wait for it, they leave before it shows up in the data.

I thought no one was leaving NY? You know things are bad when your Governor is begging New Yorkers to go to Palm Beach & bring the wealthy back. You wouldn’t have to BEG if you had better policies. By the way, the mass exodus hasn’t started yet.
