@AbelowRob But most of the numbers on Spotify comes from the playlists means we are faceless and not feeling among 1% at all. Like we have 50K listeners for now but 1,1 followers on Insta and 60 (!) super fans on Telegram where we communicate.

If you have 1,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, you're in the top 7% of artists. If you have 10,000 monthly listeners, you're in the top 3%. If you have 100,000 monthly listeners, you're in the top 1%. Does it feel like it?

@ElementsHidden To clarify I’m an advocate of MusicNFT’s, what I’m talking about here is a race to the bottom price-wise

If I’m selling music for $2 I’d honestly rather use Bandcamp. Zero gas fees, nice interface, streamable for owners. Gives preview listens but doesn’t give the whole song away on the blockchain for eternity for anyone to listen to… $2 / $4 MusicNFT’s are a step backwards.

@AbelowRob The playlist cult is supported by Spotify because most of the listeners come from them. So it creates market and demand. Then playlist owner put established artists into it and promote the playlist with big names attracting subscribers. So it becomes product with value to sell.

Don't ever pay for playlist placement. or to be reviewed or to showcase or be 'discovered' These are grifts. Focus on earned things that build your career.

A salvation for musicians coming from another end. Checking AI services for smm, content creation and see it could easily decrease our expenses in a certain way. Means if we cut 200 out of 400$ promo budget with AI there is money on the plate for us🤔 #Web3Music @jointhepressure

@AbelowRob Since I saw that performance always showing it to musicians as example of true commitment. If you can’t move like Future Islands on stage you are not ready then:) But honestly that show was so desperate and inspiring at the same time that this became a formula of love.

This is one of the all time great late night tv performances. It catapulted Future Islands to "overnight success". It's also a lesson in: - meeting your moment - putting in the work - & fully committing By the time of that performance, Future Islands had played over 700 shows.
