@Peter_Fitz Don’t confuse not saying anything for not caring. I served in the Persian Gulf on HMAS Darwin in the early 90s. I was lucky to keep one of the white ensigns that flew over the ship in the Gulf. The flag either National or the white ensign always represented home to me.

I love Jacka. If you can find anything he ever said about the flag one way or another, I'll be fascinated. It simply wasn't a "thing," in either of the World Wars. And having just finished my book on Long Tan, doubt it was big at Vietnam either.

@vanOnselenP The Family Day Care industry has been forgotten. FDC educators are sole traders who are paid directly from parents and government. They are being told they are essential must keep open but must now take a 50% pay cut and join the Ceno lines for Jobkeeper. Look into it.
