Dnes někdo slavil "den země". To je myslím skvělá příležitost vám vyprávět, jak jsem byl ekologickým aktivistou. Bylo mi asi tolik, jako mé dceři dneska, kolem patnácti. A dělal jsem z mladické nerozvážnosti různé zvláštní věci. Například jsem byl aktivní v jistém, dnes již neexistujícím ale tehdy relativně populárním, ekoaktivistickém hnutí. Docela krátkou dobu. A může za to Temelín. Tehdy se totiž řešila dostavba a spuštění jaderné elektrárny Temelín a tyhlety spolky byly vesměs proti. Ale mně nějak neseděly ty důvody, takže jsem se pustil do studia podkladů, s intenzitou a vytrvalostí hodnou lepší věci (měl jsem spoustu volného času). Takže jsem si nastudoval, jak to je s těmi reaktory, jejich bezpečností, primárním a sekundárním okruhem, jaký je rozdíl mezi RBMK a VVER reaktory, pod- a nadkritické množství atakdále atakdále. A pak jsem se účastnil jakési akce oné organizace, která se konala poblíž mého bydliště. Jsem z Karlových Varů a dělo se to v Jáchymově. A došla řeč i na jadernou energii. Všichni byli proti, jenom já pro. A jenom já jsem o tom něco věděl. A vedoucí toho spolku, kterému mohlo být tak čtyřicet, mi s vážnou tváří tvrdil, že radioaktivita je špatná, protože je nepřirozená, že dokud člověk nevyrobil atomovou bombu, tak žádná radioaktivita nebyla. Ze všech míst na této planetě mi to tvrdil zrovna na kopci v Jáchymově. A nebylo s ním možné nijak hnout. Sice o tom neměl žádné znalosti, ale zato měl NÁZOR. Je to už víc než třicet let. Nepamatuju si, jak se ten člověk jmenoval. Ale naprosto zřetelně si pamatuju ten pocit nevěřícné bezmoci, který jsem tehdy měl. Ne že bych měl v té době nějakou přehnanou úctu k dospělým a autoritám. Ale na kopci ze smolince přede mnou stál dospělý člověk v pozici nějaké autority sui generis, který mi tvrdil, že radioaktivita před zásahem člověka neexistovala. Mé patnáctileté já tam stálo a bylo zcela zmatené, protože netušilo, co má dělat s člověkem, jehož mysl se s realitou stýká jenom v několika málo bodech a to spojení není příliš pevné. Tehdy poprvé jsem se setkal s přístupem "udělal se mi názor a jenom proto ho musíš respektovat". Byl to konec mého ekologického aktivismu. Myslím si, že tento zážitek byl jedním z definujících okamžiků mého života. Když nad tím tak přemýšlím, asi bych tomuhle člověkovi měl být vděčný.

V Česku lidé reálně demonstrují v ulicích proti zrušení poplatků, které jim stát nařizuje ze zákona platit. Tohle je fakt národ ideálních nevolníků. My si povinné placení poplatků vzít nedáme, my budeme demonstrovat až do doby, než nám slíbíte, že je budeme muset nadále platit!
