In rural areas, treatment for opioid use disorder can be hard to get. Fortunately, researchers have found a creative way to bring help where it's most needed: a modified RV (yes, the same kind for road trips). My story for @Verywell has the scoop. verywellmind.com/mobile-clinic-…

Just released! Our paper (SAMHSA, NIDA, CDC, McLean Hospital) showing parents’ past year marijuana use consistently associated with increased (unad) risk of offspring (12-30 y) use of marijuana tobacco alcohol and opioids. JAMA Network Open. Even lifetime parent use raises risk!

Nice paper from @amitba showing that RCTs may be proof of principle, but they are not necessarily generalizable. Nice analysis and thoughtful suggestions for research.academic.oup.com/tbm/advance-ar…

Rethinking engagement in digital health requires an analysis of why people are not engaging. Paper helps reveal we are too focused on general content and not enough on how people change and what they need as they embark on their journey.

People download apps but how much do they use these apps? Look into our new paper on real-world user engagement with popular #mentalhealth apps. #mhealth #digitalhealth @FredMuench jmir.org/2019/9/e14567/

Right on point! Criminalizing addiction is unequivocally BAD POLICY. It may also be BAD LAW, but its constitutionality hasn't been seriously challenged since Powell v TX (1968). Until now. Sigh. Now we need action. We need funds and resources that go to treatment and ongoing peer and family support. It is time to act after years of inaction. nytimes.com/2018/05/29/hea…
