@KarolDillon8 It's chat, "entertainment " even, but they try to pass it off as analysis , which clearly it is not. A player doesn't immediately become an analyst, just as the don't naturally become a coach!

I find this argument so frustrating. Taken to its logical end, you’d never train at all because there aren’t 50,000 people there. If practising penalties is pointless, why did Southgate’s England win 3/4 shootouts, compared to 1/6 before him?

@CiDeely Gaa players have never played for a manager, thats a real soccer type of statement. Have seen the worst of coaches win trophies and the best of coaches get teams relegated. Games take on life of their own and players play for themselves and each other

The more I experience managers/coaches in the game (both football & Gaelic football⚽️🏐) the more I see the No. 1 thing any new leader of a group needs is rapport with the players Tactical nous & game understanding counts for nothing if the players won’t play for you. Simple

@AnalysisKings @CiDeely That's a very narrow minded and naive view point. Without rapport everything else is meaningless. "Players don't care what you know, until they know you care"....as the great J.M. once said to me.

@MillaCoach I was speaking about some S+C Coaches, in general, not you in particular. " Aerobic flush"? " Active Recovery ", will do fine.

@GMacFit I’m not trying to inflate my importance at all. My focus is simply on applying the right principles at the right time to support performance and recovery. Low-intensity aerobic work and active recovery are simple tools — and I believe in keeping them that way.

Cyril McGrath performance & rehab
Mobility & Aerobic Flush done right tonight 💪🔥 Recovery is just as important as the hard sessions. For our GAA squad, these sessions help with: ✅ Reducing muscle soreness ✅ Improving flexibility & range of motion ✅ Flushing out fatigue from heavy training ✅ mindset

@MillaCoach I see, a.k.a. Low intensity aerobic activities/ Active Recovery....sometimes S+C Coaches are their own worst enemy by trying to inflate their own importance. Keep it simple.

Should we do skill tests with kids?? My thoughts are no. •All children develop at different rates •Setting the less developed child up for failure •Beginning to divide into strong vs weak •Development is replaced by results •Expose those who are later developers

@sinead_ryan @olivercallan For a journalist "knob" really shows a poor command of the English language. Not all guests conform to social norms. Sinead O Connor, George Best, Shane McGowan, Tommy Tiernan, all knobs too? Broaden your horizons perhaps?

I was at the Performance Analysis Community event/Setanta coaching conference/St Joseph's coaching clinic recently. Few quick takeaways from them here. Nothing groundbreaking, but some excellent presentations anyway. Two-pointers♟️ Prepping scenarios 🧠 Learning from defeat 🔄

@truefergallynch Different time , different game. Rafferty and others were badly exposed in the semi final. There's a lot of development still needed, but that's OK it's part of the growth of the player and the team.

Listening to a lot of previews ahead of the All-Ireland final and all the commentary is around how it's impossible to mark David Clifford, it's a given he'll score 9, 10 points, or 1-8. What does that say about Sean Rafferty who held him to 3 scores from play.. nailed on Allstar

@TimmyHammersley The "traditional " counties still have a stranglehold on the game, and really outside of Munster, it's very much a minority sport. The will to grow it is not there or has failed so far. Large parts of "football counties " are massively anti hurling.

@MikeRockfield @TimmyHammersley The wides tally on both sides would not indicate it was a classic. Great contest and exciting, definitely, but that does not mean a classic.

@Jskehill01 @cursedbyaclown1 League placings need to be linked to the championship draw, i.e. seeded teams, which then happens post league. Home venue teams still win the majority of games.

@cursedbyaclown1 None in my view, the league is a glorified challenge game competition that carries barely a fraction of importance vs Championship. Extend the Championship structure to make it less condensed...

The new rules have completely changed football for the better. Most people complaining about them are literally just looking for an excuse to give out. They have made football far more entertaining, attractive and skilful FRC probably most influential body in GAA history.
