@ChiSoxFanMike I would think they should be better than the Twins
English

@JLas43_ Doval is a true wild card. Fix him and he's a weapon otherwise he might turn into Jordan Hicks the reliever
English

Doval is going to be a hold your breath guy all year
JL@JLas43_
@Nabers2HOF Doval has a reputation of being very inconsistent and Cruz missing time again wouldn’t be a huge surprise. That’s all I’m saying is if we see some of that stuff happen again with those two, the setup situation will be concerning
English

@KeeganMatheson Interesting team but I think they overachieved last year and lost one of there better players in BO. The Santader deal is still a black could too

This hasn’t looked like the #BlueJays

@ColeIsKing_ He's been washed. Why do you SF pulled him from late innings and traded him lol
English

@shoewizard59 Paul was always the closer. Good look for the rest of the pen tonight. Would love to see Morillo figure it out
English

@McFarland_Shawn Down in the game and the pressure was off. They still need to find help out there. A rare team that needs a Right handed arm
English

@JeffFletcherOCR I'm assuming Joey Lucchesi is gone when Yates is ready to return?
English

Let's talk about strikeouts.
Also, Chase Silseth's role in the bullpen. Plus, a Kirby Yates update.

Bullpen Notes 🗒️(4/4)
DET: Kenley was in the game for the 9th with a 5 run lead. It was pouring rain and he was definitely going to give up runs if it didn't get called. Thank God
MIL: In G1 Megill saw the 9th. He walked a couple but locked in to pick up the save. He's the closer. Uribe pitched in the 7th and 8th.
CWS: Another dominant 1st for Taylor. Two in a row so he'll be off tmr. Lets see what part of the game he pitches in next. Domínguez picked up the save but let a couple guys on although no runs scored and he was hitting 97. Jordan Hicks had a good outing. Is he fixed and if so with Leasure struggling and Taylor pitching all over is he worth adding? Domínguez is going to continue see the save chances.
BAL: Helsley took the loss. He was on for the 9th with the game tied. Not super concerned here because his velo was there and the rest of the bullpen is struggling. They need Akin and Kittredge back. Helsley did look similar to the guy we saw last year which is worth noting.
PIT: Santana pitched the top of the 9th and picked up the win. I note this since it was the spot you would normally see the closer. Soto had pitched yesterday so maybe it was a matchup thing. Either way I feel like this is more of a committee at this point. Both guys are worth rostering.
ATH: Didn't think I'd be mentioning them after an 11-0 beating huh. Elvis Alvarado pitched the 4th and 5th and gave up runs. He's been removed from any late inning situations so in any normal league you can cut him. Hogan Harris pitched the 6th with the team down 7-0 and gave up 3. I think he will still find his way into the 9th at points this year but you are going to have to live with outings like today. Roster if you dare but don't expect much besides the occasional save and the potential ERA/WHIP beating.
NYY: Camilo Doval had his 2nd consecutive bad outing. It's going to be tough to rely on him for the 8th inning all year. He is still too inconsistent. I'd prefer Cruz for holds on this team. Bednar struggled in the 9th allowing a run but getting the save. He has a tendency to let guys on and get out of the jams. It has worked so far in his tenure with New York.
CIN: Emilio Pagán was rocky tonight but got a save and didn't allow any runs. He walked a couple but got a double play that really helped him out. They are using him a ton already and this was his 2nd night in a row but he has converted all his save chances. He's the closer but still not a guy I want on my roster.
MIN: Taylor Rogers pitched the 5th for some reason. They were down in the game and he gave up a couple runs. The bullpen has been worked so I think they knew they would use him today and this was when they decided. I don't think he's the closer but he could steal the occasional matchup based save.
ARI: Sewald bounced back and converted a save. He made quick work of the 2nd half of the ATL lineup. Tonight the bullpen worked perfectly for ARI. Loáisiga in 7th, Morillo in the 8th against 2,3,4. It wont happen like this every night so enjoy it while you can.
SFG: Keaton Winn pitched in the 7th with the team down 8-0. I think it was more of a get him some work outing. He gave up a run and struggled. It's possible we all jumped on the hype train to soon but the potential is still there. I wouldn't be concerned about tonight's outing.
LAA: Romano picked up the save. He got saved by a web gem from Jo Adell who ended up over the fence after catching a would be game tying home run. Besides that Romano looked good again. Bachman started the 8th and also got bailed out by an Adell over the fence catch before Pomeranz finished the inning. It was a good night for the LAA bullpen. SEA still cant hit.

@WhtSoxualHealin I think has the potential for the most saves this season in that group. Would be great to see him convert a save chance

Bullpen Stock
A new man in the Steel City? (Fantrax Roster %)
Stock Up 📈
Gregory Soto (27%) Winner of last night. Appears to be the number 1 option for saves in PIT. I feel like this is a committee still with Santana but if you need potential saves and holds add him.
Jordan Romano: (63%) Looked good in a tie game. He's the closer. Add him for saves.
Seranthony Domínguez (62%) Grant Taylor is starting and Leasure is struggling. He's the closer though I wouldn't be thrilled about adding him
Jonathan Loáisiga (10%) Deep add for saves in ARI. Could replace Sewald
Juan Morillo (2%) Deeper add for saves in ARI. Could replace Sewald
(Keep adding Erceg, and Baker for saves, Winn for potential)
Stock Watch
Paul Sewald (57%) Little rough in a tie game last night (2 runs L). He's the closer so I'm still adding
Chris Martin (20%) 2 runs allowed in a tie to take the loss. He'd be stock down but he's the only high leverage RHP they have. Very risky to roster
Jordan Leasure (22%) Very slow start to the season
Stock Down 📉
Dennis Santana (81%) If you're rostering Santana you're praying this was just a Soto week. Dont drop yet but might need to look elsewhere for saves
Graham Ashcraft (24%) Low tier holds only

@AWMathis They want him to throw 100 innings this year. I think he will start going 2 or 3 innings an appearance and it will likely be both starts and relief appearances. Pretty much how they used Mike Vasil last year
English

@GettheSave9th Do you think Grant Taylor will eventually go back to the pen or are they going to start stretching him out as a true starter?
English

Bullpen Notes 🗒️ (4/3)
CWS: Grant Taylor started today and is starting tomorrow. He was today in his inning of work. I really dont see him closing games but until they start lengthening him out there's still a chance. Leasure was bad and his rough start continues. Domínguez picked up the win pitching the 9th and 10th. His velo was good. One job threat is struggling and the other starting. He's going to close games for this team.
TOR: Tough luck loss for Hoffman as his backup catcher threw away a bunt allowing the ghost runner to score and the batter to reach second. Next batter ended it with a single. I'm not worried about Hoff but the haters get some more ammo after tonight.
CIN: Emilio Pagán picked up a save. Tony Santillan got the win and Graham Ashcraft blew the starters win in the 7th. Honestly Ashcraft while a quality 7th inning arm has never taken that step to be dominant. Still a solid hold option but Santillan is still a step above.
TEX: Chris Martin took the loss tonight giving up a 2 run homer with the game tied in the 9th. Not much of a positive here. Martin cant continue to struggle and pitch late in games. His saving grace has been he is right handed which the other guys arent. Kind of good news for Garcia and maybe Alexander but TEX really needs to do something about the 9th.
CLE: Cade Smith got a save and allowed no runs. I just note this since he has given up a couple runs in non save situations so far this year. His job is safe.
PIT: This is the big bullpen news of the night. Gregory Soto picked up the save and he pitched against the tougher part of the lineup. He did give up a bomb to Henderson but he struck out 3. Santana pitched the 8th. There has been some rumblings about a committee so this seems to confirm that. I'm hesitant to call Soto the closer but at the very least he is leading the committee. Now we wait and see is the committe 60/40, 80/20 or was this just Soto's week. You should be adding Soto if you need saves or holds. I wouldn't cut Santana yet.
MIN: For those wondering Justin Topa struggled a bit pitching in the 7th and was bailed out by Kody Funderburk. At the time the game was tied. MIN blew it open in the bottom half of the inning. Unless you happen to have the MIN scouting report of the other team I think it will remain virtually impossible to predict who will close the game on any giving night. Sands should still be the leader of the committee.
LAA: I watched Romano pitch the 9th with it tied 0-0. He looked good. Go out and add him if you need saves because he is the closer.
ARI: Sewald took the loss tonight. He was pitching in the 9th with the game tied at 0 and gave up a pair of solo home runs. With a fastball sitting around 90 these outing will happen. I dont think tonight hurt his status as the closer and I would still recommend adding him but if it happens a few more times guys like Jonathan Loáisiga and Juan Morillo could pitch themselves into the conversation
