New Closer Ranks!!! It's the unofficial half way point. What do you all think of the ranks below? We have had some surprises but the top three were pretty much expected. Lab Ranks (#)🧪 Tier 1 - The Studs (7/14) 1. Mason Miller (#1) 2. Jhoan Duran (#2) 3. Cade Smith (#5) Same old same old here with two of these guys picking up three saves this week. Tier 2 - Top of The Line (7/14) 4. Bryan Baker (#7) 5. Josh Hader (#3) 6. Raisel Iglesias (#12) 7. Aroldis Chapman (#13) 8. Louis Varland (#4) 9. Jacob Latz (#6) 10. David Bednar (#10) 11. Andrés Muñoz (#9) I moved Baker up. He has been growing in the role and looks like a monster in the 9th. Hader is Hader and Iglesias is starting a new save streak. Tier 3 The Mids (7/14) 12. Trevor Megill (#8) 13. Riley O'Brien (#16) 14. Paul Sewald (#15) 15. Pete Fairbanks (#18) The top of the mids is pretty much the same but the lower half has been dropped down to sick pups. Really outside of Fairbanks all three of these guys could be up a tier. Tier 4 The Single Sick Pups (7/14) 16. Emilio Pagán (#22) 17. Devin Williams (#14) 18. Alex Lange (#25) 19. Kenley Jansen (#20) 20. Tanner Scott (#11) 21. Kirby Yates (#27) 22. Yoendrys Gomez (#24) 23. Jacob Webb (#23) 24. Tyler Wells (#26) 25. Jordan Romano (#65) This is just a brutal group here. Pagán and Williams are bad but look at the rest of the group. Scott is down since he is getting replaced. I listed Gomez, Webb, Wells, and Romano here in stead of in two man groups or committees since I think they see 80% of the chances. What percent they convert is a much different story. Tier 5 Two Man Sick Pup Groups (7/14) 26. Grant Taylor (#17) 26a. Sean Newcomb (#44) 27. Gregory Soto (#21) 27a. Mason Montgomery (#54) This group is down since I went with a lot of guys as sick pups. Taylor is right there as the closer and the PIT job is up in the air but I think Soto has the upper hand. Tier 6 The Swamp (7/14) 28. Erik Miller (#97) 28a. Keaton Winn (N/A) 28b. Caleb Kilian (#19) 29. Clayton Beeter (#29) 29a. PJ Poulin (#73) 29b. Justin Lawrence (#117) 30. Elvis Alvarado (#33) 30a. Hogan Harris (#31) 30b. Mason Barnett (#45) Total chaos with these three. I think Kilian is out for the Giants so the other two are up next. The Nats get the 29 ranking since they can win and the A's are 30th since they cant. Will Ryan Jeffers be member of the #MNTwins after the August 3rd trade deadline? This is his last season of team control but the Twins are also currently firmly in playoff contention

Wonder if the Twins can get anything for Matt Wallner at the deadline. He's demolishing Triple-A at age 28, but his path back to the majors here has all but evaporated. If I was an offense-needy team with DH at-bats available, I'd definitely be interested.

@HB_2000__ I would drop him for Taylor, Pagan, and Gomez. Wells probably Kilian your better off with no one If you league has holds he'll retain some value otherwise this weekend is probably it

@FantasyBaseBNow Yea Devin is always tough but just him being in the sick pups tier is quiet a fall from grace. I wouldn't add Romero ether You are probably right about Taylor and Scott is all but done like you said

Devin Williams should be down a full category. If you have to pick up Romero, just grab a starter or a set-up guy (if your league rewards holds) because he is a walking gas can. I’m buying hard on Grant Taylor and holding him because he will be the closer sooner than later. Scott’s value will drop into oblivion shortly as Diaz is close to being back

@Chandler_Rome Depending on what they do with Abreu how important is a right handed relief pitcher? Keeping him could fill that role but if not it seems like a pretty glaring hole in the bullpen

The Astros missed the postseason last year by one game. And this season is going to be even more challenging for them to get in. They’re in dire need of stable arm in the rotation. BOS Sonny Gray KCR Michael Wacha SFG Logan Webb Can Jim Crane / Dana Brown pull it off?
