The number of Brits now paying the punitive 45% top rate of tax, which cuts in at a measly £125k, has grown by 57% in a single year to reach 900k. This group pays 38% of all income tax, despite constituting only 2% of taxpayers.
By contrast in the US the top federal rate of income tax is 37% & cuts in at an income of £465k. Britain is a poor country whose tax & welfare system encourages poverty.

@ajambrosino @thsottiaux Wen and let me start goals from mobile app

You can now keep codex going for days.
With GPT-5.5 it will build an entire OS kernel for you if you ask, or find critical bugs in a codebase, or optimize your database schemas, or… the options are endless.

/goal also lands in Codex CLI 0.128.0. Our take on the Ralph loop: keep a goal alive across turns. Don't stop until it's achieved. Built by my co-worker and OpenAI mentor Eric Traut, aka the Pyright guy. One of the GOATs I get to work with daily.

@JoshMandell6 @dotkrueger I tipped him $500 to talk power law to me
English

@JoshMandell6 @dotkrueger And lower interest rates, might just incentivize them to borrow more, not pay off the debt
English

@dotkrueger "They owe so much on their credit card that they NEED lower rates" - @dotkrueger
(Problem is they've been paying the "minimum payment due" for decades!)

I believe @TimDraper flies
Just look at those brows above his eyes
If the outlook gets too dark and gray
He'd take his Bitcoin and just fly away

@WissyZB @SimonDixonTwitt Who is preventing you from using your bitcoin in the real world?
English

@HashOverCash21 @SimonDixonTwitt Stranger,
Its not about self custody or custody....its about being able to use your Bitcoin and other cryptos in the real world without someone else preventing you.
English

They didn’t seize Bitcoin.
They seized stablecoins and crypto.
The bitcoin in self custody is with the key holder still as far as I am aware.
Darshan@Darshan89595014
@KobeissiLetter @SimonDixonTwitt can you please explain how is bitcoin secure if they can seize it so easily?

For our first 1000 members we shipped an exclusive custom app icon on iOS this week. As a thank you for your early support and for believing in us.
This icon is automatically unlocked with "The Visionary" achievement (you have to be within the first 1000 signups, which means you signed up within the first day or two back when we launched in 2019)
Much love 🥰

English

@WissyZB @SimonDixonTwitt Anyone can self-custody, it’s not difficult
English

@SimonDixonTwitt Dog Gone It.
I get what you are saying Simon, but what good is it if they can still do this to retail people.
Remember, they are not wealthy like man of YOU who MAY have connections, techniques, access, or special guardrails to protect yourself.

@GhostsInTheLdgr Honestly, I think it’s 10%. I was having a conversation with some older folks last week about STRC and their immediate reaction was, “what’s the catch?”.
English

@HashOverCash21 Absolutely. What % seems too good to be true to the normie? 13% already has to be close if not there.
English

I get what you’re saying though, feels like there should be a bigger gap. They are both so high already, I feel like they actually hurt themselves by continuing to raise. 10% is high, but you can make the case for it. 13%+ though? Hard to convince a normal person that it isn’t a dangerous product to purchase.
English

@HashOverCash21 Excellent point about capital stack position I hadn’t considered that at all
