I've used Codex /goal all weekend on side projects/games and I can definitely feel that this is something that will be part of our toolbelt from now on and will change how we work with agent quite a bit 🧵

I continue to be impressed by how easy it is to iterate on that game. I've asked Codex a pass on the lightning system, for better procedural world generation with towns and more biomes, and it keeps delivering! The gameplay is quite good too!

Oh yeah I forgot that I had that running. The goal was to make wrap a Doom engine in a macOS native app with nice native tools like a wad manager, saves, minimap etc... Codex download chocolate doom, edited the C part and made Swift binding. 1H30 /goal one shot.

I have no idea why I’m obsessed with building games. It’s probably just because I can. I just wish I could find the perfect dopamine loop to go with the perfect dopamine loop.

Probably my favorite part! Set a /goal and I felt like steering was actually much better! I could fine tune pieces of my game while Codex was building the bigger picture and not losing track because of my goal was set and it could resume after working on smaller parts.

/goal did not replace steering. In an experiment for a 3D game I still kept tuning FOV, clouds, trees, sword placement, etc. The goal held the arc steady while you kept making taste calls turn by turn.
