My beef with race across the world: if you think at any point you are going to have to take a job, why not do it in the starting place, which is a high wage economy, rather than waiting until you are in Burkina Faso?

@whippletom Literally about to comment just this. I want to know the logistics of the producers coordinating their handlers. Where they have security. When they manipulate the race “oh no there’s a shock incident and you all need to spend 24hrs waiting in a hotel”.

The Afghan incidents, if true, would be, quite obviously, illegal under LOAC. So the claim is presumably they didn't happen. But it's not clear on what basis it's being argued that they didn't happen. A stronger argument would be that they represented only particular units for one stretch of time.

Curious for other views but seems to be there are two things being conflated in the latest SF commentary. One is applicability of Human Rights Act to battlefield. The other is alleged war crimes which would meet that definition regardless of HRA.

Realistically, if MPs want to get their hands on alcohol they will and it’s much better if they do this legally in a safe and controlled environment than if they pick up alcohol laced with god knows what from a dealer in an alleyway
