Deeply honoured. When I left my legal career in Pakistan in 2012 I didn’t know if I’d ever go back in any way. Thank you @CCP_Pakistan for giving me the opportunity. Look forward to balancing this with my work at @law_uom

A recent paper co-authored by several Stigler Center-affiliated scholars, including @BarriosEcon, @JoshuaYLevy, @shashankss09, @TomValletti, and @zingales discussed how conflicts of interest impact the trustworthiness of economics research. Together with @UCL_CLES, @GeorgetownLaw, LobbyControl, @ImperialCollege, and @Inclusive_Comp, we also co-organized a conference in Brussels to discuss how corporate relationships impact antitrust scholarship. We also instituted a disclosure policy at #StiglerAntitrust25: promarket.org/2025/04/08/sti… NBER paper: nber.org/papers/w33645

Such an important point on the state of antitrust scholarship from ⁦@MeadorFTC⁩! Academic whitewashing on behalf of the largest corporations needs to be addressed.

With civil society (probono) I tried to oppose this. Thanks in particular to @nickshaxson and @unitetheunion. But civil society has no organisation, no money, and alas very few people willing to listen. We lost. How can we change this? Fin/Ciao
